So Goa Police arrested Gautam Khattar’s brother from Uttarakhand for Gautam Khattar’s alleged crime of stating historical facts about St Francis Xavier. Allegedly those remarks by Gautam were ‘derogatory’.

They said his brother’s crime was to record Gautam Khattar’s speech and broadcast it. A lookout circular for Gautam Khattar has also been released.

FIR was filed by the president of the Cortalim block Congress committee.

Arrest happened as per orders of Goa Police.

Visited Kadlapur and Rapole in Parigi Mandal, and Aloor in Chevella Mandal, where notifications have been issued for land acquisition for proposed industrial parks.

It is important to remember that industrial parks established nearly two decades ago in Rakemcherla (Pudur Mandal), Nancherla (Gandeed Mandal), and Yenkatala (Mominpet Mandal) in Vikarabad district still remain underutilized, with hundreds of acres lying vacant.

Before acquiring fresh land, the government must take a hard look at why existing industrial zones have not been fully utilized.

Due process under the Land Acquisition Act must be strictly followed, ensuring complete transparency and obtaining at least 80% consent from local farmers.

Small and marginal farmers, who depend entirely on this land for their livelihood, stand to lose the most and must be protected.

We have already seen in Hythabad and Sitarampur (Shabad Mandal) how assigned and temple lands were misused, with serious financial irregularities under the previous government.

The present government must act responsibly, learn from past mistakes, and ensure that such injustices are not repeated.
