Signing off 2023 with great achievements- 2 new PhD students joined the lab, 2 students submitted their thesis (one awarded degree), 3 res papers + many from collaborations, outreach to schools& appreciated by peers. Looking forward for even better 2024 for the lab.

In most families, a generation has toiled this way to push the financial status up, uncomplainingly, living for the monthly salary, with no room for risks or adventure. Like treading a straight line without venturing sideways at all.

Their younger generation must understand such great sacrifices, make better use of their time and brain and not waste their privilege seeking cheap entertainment

Have you ever spent hours in the lab doing a western blot, only to end up with a black spot on your membrane that looks like a Rorschach test? If you have, you're not alone. Western blotting is one of the most common and frustrating techniques in molecular biology. It's supposed to be simple: transfer proteins from a gel to a membrane, and then use antibodies to find them. But sometimes, things go wrong. Very wrong.

Another paper from our lab accepted last night in the journal Molecular Neurobiology. Its the 3rd paper on Zika this yr. Using primary cultures of human neural stemcells, the paper describes the mol mechanisms for Zika virus induced microcephaly
