@mizunocaitlin Same. I love women. I love making a community of loving, strong, creative, loyal, kind women around me. The energy & belonging I get from the friends in my life... I am forever grateful. ๐ฅฐ
I have always known myself, that I'm made for teaching secondary school. But to make ends meet, I'm taking summer after school programs with elementary kids and WHEW.
#ElementarySchool teachers, I've always been impressed. Now, even moreso, hats off to you
@mizunocaitlin My brother is experiencing the same thing. He said when he took off his medical background (he pivoted), thereby making his resume look more like everyone else's, he started getting many more interview scheduling emails. I thought it's insane bc his bg gives him MORE skills!
@mizunocaitlin Okay after three weeks, I can honestly say HOLY CRAP COLORING IS A GODSEND.
Also I get it now. Once you find the right mix of curriculum, they're very cute & it's fun.
Thanks for the tips!! ๐๐ฝ
@yo_samuteki I'm transitioning out, keeping the business stuff but otherwise meh. I ๐๏ธ the app too.
It's interesting; ~10ish years of streaming, social media, etc & these capitalistic idiot companies have made it ALL just...Not fun.
I do like Mastodon but meh... Ready for less social media.
... keep their husbands happy. After all, their autonomy was at their husbands' discretion.
My grandma showed my mom the power of an education & a bank account. And my mom taught me.
And I will fight to my dying breath for the autonomy I can have w/o having to kowtow to a man.
My great-gran was married at 16 to a man in his 40s, & a widow before 30 w/8 kids. Most her daughters had to marry.
My grandma was married at 18, 1 BIG reason she chose my grandpa was bc he believed in women's education (1/3)
otherwise she wouldn't have been able to get a degree, then a Masters in Education in America in the 1950s (she lived in India). But he had a temper.
My grandmas were lucky: the men they married loved them. All in all, it worked out.
But my grandmas had to...
@mizunocaitlin I had the same thought! That I need to go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of coloring books.
I'm glad you're confirming I'm on the right track!
@mizunocaitlin I don't ๐... which is why I'm so impressed!
It's so difficult to teach, be aware of where they all are, herd them like cats, be aware of bathroom breaks, TEACH!, and on and on...
After one week, I'm like:
@winterwoman112 The thing that's wild to me is it's not a one or the other situation. You can still drive if you have mobility issues or just love your car THAT much, the point is to make things accessible for those walking as well. It benefits everyone!
Where did critical thinking go? ๐ญ
@ask_aubry Reminds me of a young woman who admitted on one of those tiktok "asking drunk ppl outside a nightclub their wildest secret" that her bf cheated on her -- so she slept with his mom & she was great. ๐ #FAFO
