I miss high school so much. I was always so busy but it was the best kind of busy. Specifically my senior year was so busy, if I wasn’t at volleyball practice I had a game. If I wasn’t at my own practice, I was coaching the middle school girls practice. I would get off the bus after one of my games and drive straight to coach the middle school girls game. On Fridays, I went to my brother’s football games.

If I wasn’t in class, I was my principal’s assistant. I did things around the school for him and also helped him plan his days and organize. I had my own key card and helped in the office as well. During lunch, I would either have a student council meeting or me and my friends would drive to Starbucks.

I had so many responsibilities but it gave me such purpose. I built such great relationships with my teachers, principal, and coaches. But what I miss the very most is my middle school girls. They absolutely adored me and I adored them back. I made so many sacrifices to be with them and I would do it over again in a heartbeat. It’s all so worth it when they get their first serve over in a game, or when they come to you with a problem in their personal life that they trust you with.

I’m so grateful for my high school. I’ve been searching for that same feeling of purpose ever since.
