When a nation "closes its eyes" to the murder of children, God moves his judgment away from just the murderer and onto *the nation*

It does not matter if there are "extenuating circumstances" or hormonal impulses for child murder, and God knew people's emotions could be manipulated to avoid justice falling.

This is why throughout the Old Testamemt when God commands justice (death penalty) to fall on murderers, He repeatedly says "Your eye shall not pity [her]."

And we have also (+Lindsey Clancy) been doing this for ~50 years in our nation, storing up wrath (Romans 1) for a day that, without repentance, will come.

The fact that she’s even trying to evade punishment is proof enough that she wasn’t “insane” when she committed the crime. If a loving parent woke up from a psychotic stupor and found out they’d done something like that, they’d beg the state to execute them. They wouldn’t want to be found not guilty. They’d want to be punished to the fullest extent possible. They wouldn’t even ask for a lawyer. “I’m guilty. Either kill me or throw me in the darkest dungeon you have.” That’s all they’d say. And frankly it wouldn’t even get to that point because they would have made sure to commit suicide successfully when they had the chance. There’s no way any good, loving parent would sit through a trial and actually offer a defense for their own actions after strangling their beautiful children to death. Granted, no loving parent would commit that crime in the first place. But I’m saying that even according to the defense’s version of the case — that she was a “good mother” who went insane and had no control — her actions AFTER the crime don’t add up.

To the Americans:

I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.

And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:

You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.

This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.

Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.

This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.

But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.

This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.

And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:

Thank God for the United States.

Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.

Long may your admirable country dominate the world.

Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.

May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.

Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.

I have heart surgery coming up next week and now understand why I’ve been so physically exhausted and out-of-sorts these past few months. The docs tell me my condition is called “atrial functional tricuspid regurgitation” and that it is “mainly due to long standing atrial fibrillation… The tricuspid valve is leaking severely, causing a back pressure on all the internal organs and a high jugular venous pressure.” The procedure aims to get this old body back on the road again quickly and efficiently.  It is VERY LOW RISK but of course I’m grateful for any good wishes sent my way. I’m in the midst of writing a new book, the best work I’ve ever done, and I’m not going to let this stop me! I said yes to the linked podcast now, rather than after my procedure, for reasons that I explain during the interview:

Spent the entire morning hanging 1-1 with my 10 year old daughter.

•Long walk. Left my phone at home.
•Played a bunch of cards. Kept my phone in the other room.

We had so much fun & a couple times laughed until my cheeks hurt.

It was pure bliss & I couldn't love that little angel anymore.

My X has gotten worse, I get fewer impressions, less money etc. since making it a big focus to have many hours a day with ZERO PHONE.

But my kids are only young once & it's going FAST!

I wanna ensure I maximize my time & am super intentional with them all the these opportunities I get.

Because one day, & it'll come sooner than I care to admit, she'll be too busy with her own life & family to JUST HANG WITH DAD ALL MORNING.

Lock in parents. Kids need our PRESENCE over anything. ❤️
