Unpopular opinion: Akses ke AI harusnya amat sangat terbatas.

Sekarang itu udah amat sangat lazim orang menggunakan AI untuk memecahkan masalah yang seharusnya bisa diselesaikan manusia, seperti penjumlahan dan perkalian.

Penggunaan AI yang secara serampangan gini, selain merusak lingkungan, juga merusak daya pikir manusia secara umum. Manusia jadi amat sangat menggantungkan hidupnya ke AI. Untuk membentuk argumen yang koheren saja bergantung pada AI. Lalu di kehidupan sehari-hari di luar internet, bagaimana?

Buat gw, AI itu sama powerfulnya dengan senjata api. Semakin mudah aksesnya, semakin buruk dampaknya ke manusia secara umum. Senjata api yang ada petunjuk teknis penggunaannya saja masih banyak disalahgunakan, apalagi AI yang tidak ada petunjuk teknisnya.

Tanpa AI, kita masih bisa hidup kok. Masih ada google untuk mencari tahu. Masih ada buku untuk dibaca. Masih banyak cara untuk menjadi tahu tanpa harus bertanya pada AI.

AI is probably the biggest prisoner’s dilemma we’ve ever created. Everyone knows slowing down might be safer. But if OpenAI slows down and Anthropic doesn’t, OpenAI loses. If the US slows down and China doesn’t, the US loses. So nobody slows down.

That’s what makes this so insane. You don’t need some evil person trying to destroy the world. You just need a bunch of people making the rational decision for themselves over and over until collectively we’ve raced somewhere none of us actually wanted to go.

It’s a race to zero. Zero cost of intelligence. Zero time between thinking and doing. Maybe eventually zero need for us at all.
