hey hayley, i do see your point here. i’ll try to elaborate. when i say that, i mean his expectations were way over board. we can’t, as people, dictate a person’s reactions or attitude towards us. it’s common for people to be ungrateful. heck! some may even tell you it’s the default for women. we can keep saying “she could..” but the fact is she didn’t and OP should consider that as being fine and move forward because the reality is, he did what he did. he was never asked to.
@shaquiui_king@Peterisrandom no.. you see that framing is a rather entitled one. do you bend over expecting gratitude? if so then your actions are far from pure and malicious in a way.
@teddyrrk@Peterisrandom you’re somewhat correct and the point i am trying to make is, you shouldn’t care what they want. it’s not your duty to give them what they want. be very selfish because in the end, no one really asks you to do things for them. gratitude is a burden to humans.
"we are going to totally stop writing code pretty soon" is a lie. we will always write code. languages may evolve and abstractions may proliferate, but we will always have to talk to computers/machines.
