@GreatLakesWife_ I felt the same I think it’s because it is easier for me to do it and they know it so I feel like I’m imposing something that is more difficult on my husband.
@GreatLakesWife_ My mom comes back and worth from Canada to help part time and my husband took off some time from work, that’s how we did it. Not easy but worth it
The guilt trip that’s reinforced to normalize this is , your toddler needs to socialize to become a productive member of society but the truth is, the need to socialize and bond with their immediate family members first to build confidence and strong emotional attachment.
I’m a strong No on daycare u less you have no choice…i keep all three of my kids (5,3,1) at home and did weekly classes with them (soccer, music, art, playground, etc) my daughter was ready 100% to go to pre-K at 4y11m and basically never looked back, my son was ready but found it slightly challenging the first couple of days at 4y2m and my little one is home 14mo and we’ll wait too.
We also have trouble finding a sitter, everyone wants market rate here 30$/h USD (and this is post tax for us) and they can barely do their job. So no sitters and I work full time remote in tech.
Anw, it’s possible and So So worth it because it all pays off. What’s 4y of a challenge for a life long solid foundation? Anw…I can keep going
@LittleBreaad_ 100% let him fall asleep in your arms do whatever you want to do that feels natural. I promise you all three of my kids were spoiled this way and they all sleep perfectly.
@MrsBystander I never told others either how great my kids sleep, I really think it’s because I never sleep trained them and just waited some time for them to do it on their own. But that really gets on people’s nerves.
Very few people I’ve met had kids whole easily sleeped trained, many parents couldn’t do it. Many kids vomit on themselves. Most people won’t talk about how horrible it actually is and feels unnatural. Anyways, I don’t understand why people expect babies to sleep but give it time when it comes to all the other milestones like walking eating and potty training
@littleapostate I prefer to think that she needed your help to sleep, not that she didn’t let you sleep. Babies are intentionally doing this, just needs you for now. It’ll soon pass.
@muheediva01 Omg biggest fight at my house: knife in the dry rack…up or down , like dude I automatically put my hand there to grab things and there’s a knife!
@GraceKraemer My criteria was: a name that pair as well with the family name, pair as well with the siblings first name, doesn’t outgrow them meaning it’s not only nice when they are little, a name that has a diminutive and has global variations/can be used internationally. I know I’m crazy.
It’s hard but passes, hang in there. All 3 of my kids needed someone to sleep with them. I tried everything (except sleep training cuz I’m not into that). At the end, the only time I could hang out with my husband was right after they fell asleep when I layed down with them. We then all co slept…I found it easier for everyone to just sleep with them. Everyone got more sleep than trying to get them to sleep alone.
