I say to you: Do you know what Jesus does with those who squander His mercy?
He pours out more mercy.
God is rich in mercy. That is what it is all about.
Whether we have sinned against Him or sunk into misery,
The Bible says that God is not stingy with mercy, but abundant; He is not poor, but rich.
— Pr. Dane Ortlund
— Pr. Dane Ortlund
Perhaps all this talk of mercy and love seems a bit abstract or hard to grasp. Yet, the richness of divine mercy becomes real to us when we see that the river of mercy flows from the heart of God—who took on human form. When Paul speaks of the saving appearance of Christ, he says: "grace [...] has appeared" (Titus 2:11). God’s grace and mercy became reality in Jesus Christ. Therefore, to speak of the appearance of Christ is to speak of the appearance of grace. "Christ is nothing but pure grace clothed in our nature," wrote the Puritan pastor Richard Sibbes....
That is why, when we contemplate the mystery of Christ in the Bible—and especially at the cross—we see how He is "rich in mercy" (Eph. 2:4): how He speaks, how He lives, and how He moves toward those who suffer.
Consider the richness of God’s mercy in your own life. Perhaps, as you look at the evidence of your life, you feel as though this mercy of God in Christ has passed you by.

This is breathtaking.
“I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.” Jeremiah 32:40–41
— 2 Corintios 1:9
“Efectivamente Hemos depositado nuestra confianza en Dios, y él seguirá rescatándonos”.
In fact, we expected to die; but as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. — 2 Corinthians 1:9
“Indeed, we have placed our trust in God, and He will continue to rescue us.”
Ten people have been injured, including several children, after a car drove into a crowd gathered to cheer on the Newcastle Knights rugby league team ahead of tomorrow's NRL Grand Final.
Police say two of the injured, a five-year-old girl and a 67-year-old man, are in critical condition, and the 18-year-old man driving the vehicle has been arrested.

— John Owen siglo 17
I know everything you do; I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient perseverance. And I see your constant improvement in all these things. “But I have a complaint against you.” — Revelation 2:19
“The crux of the matter in this context is not the absence of sin, but the forgetfulness that arises along the journey on which Christ has revealed Himself to the believer.”

John Bunyan expected execution in the early years of his imprisonment, and he got especially stuck on whether he would feel God’s comfort just before he died.
After many tossings, his conclusion is one of the most powerful paragraphs I’ve ever read.
My God, I cry out by day, and You do not answer; and by night, and I find no rest. “But You are holy, You who dwell amidst the praises of Israel.” — PSALMS 22
As I kneel before God, is my feeling that of a criminal before a judge, or is it the feeling of a sinful child in the presence of a loving and holy Father? —Martyn Lloyd-Jones
