The Historic Fourth Ward School is the last school building standing of its kind in the U.S. Constructed 1876, closed in 1936, and becoming a museum in 1986.
We can't believe 2021 is over already! Recollecting 2021, we think of all of the positive & memorable events that filled our Museum. We opened up the schoolhouse to the public in many new ways & hope all of you enjoyed our past year’s programs. Happy Holidays and New Year!

Squeek Steele Lavake had a Piano Recital at the FWS on Memorial Day. Squeek's students got to perform on the original school piano! It was fun listening to all the talented musicians as their music filled the halls of the FWS 🎹 🎼

Here is a plaque honoring the men from Virginia City who died in World War I. The plaque is displayed in the Alumni Association Collection here at the FWS.
