A visit to The Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick, a stunning medieval survival. The chapel dates back to around 1123, while other surviving parts of the building are 15thC and 16thC. Robert Dudley, Favourite to Elizabeth I, established the hospital on the site in 1571 as a residence for wounded and poor former soldiers #lordleycesterhospital #historicwarwick #robertdudley

So touched to have received an advance copy of Prof. @TracyBorman’s forthcoming book, ‘The Stolen Crown’. It is a forensic, provocative, and typically bold study of the final days of Elizabeth I’s reign. Utterly unputdownable. #TheStolenCrown#ElizabethI#JamesI#JamesVI#Tudor
