Hey Twitter-sphere, students, and teachers…got some questions for you.
How much do you think A.I. (ChatGPT, Bard, etc.) is affecting classroom learning?
Do you think it should be integrated into the classroom?
Are you experimenting with ways to integrate A.I. or avoiding it.
Governments take extraordinary steps to prevent bank panic (from @AP)
WHAP students, we just talked about failing banks from the depression era. It’s still happens, except now with US government intervention. Is this Keynesian economic practices? https://t.co/ejI9jAmyDG
@johnpershing@MrNesossi If there’s a lesson from history we should know well is that we can’t undo technological progress. Let’s expect students to learn history then apply it to improve gov, business, culture, society, etc.
@johnpershing@MrNesossi Yeah, it’s time to embrace it instead of fight it. Let’s challenge kids to create something new with historical knowledge instead of just recite it. Do what AI can’t yet…think for ourselves and create.
If superintendents don't trust principals enough to run a school autonomously then don't hire them. Principals can't focus on staff/ school needs, if they're constantly looking over their shoulder. School stability is key to student success & stability begins w/the Principal!
If the future of AI is the @pandoramusic AI, we don’t need to change much. I just got Chris Stapleton in an 1980s pop mix.
If the future is ChatGPT…I’m not worried but we need to change A LOT to make sure we’re still ahead of the AI.
It’s amazing that some of the “best” $25k a year private schools in Houston don’t have certified teachers, vertically aligned curricula, and unaccountable admins.
You’re not the best b/c you’re expensive. If you want choice, value more than reputation. #SchoolChoice#education
“Probably the most damaging case of Doublespeak in the US is the combination of two beliefs:
1. Media outlets are often biased or dishonest.
2. I don’t have to question the media I consume.”

@SaveYourSons Sounds like you’re wanting to educate people on how to get jobs that currently exist. The challenge facing schools is to prepare students for jobs and an economy that doesn’t exist yet. Teaching ppl to critically think and evaluate is more important in the future economy.
@mbcourtneyedd Nah, they should be backwards planning for the next unit.
You should expect instructional coaches and admin to be reading and implementing research.
“A Search for Common Ground” is a level-headed and authentic exchange between two politically opposed academics seeking to (and do) find common ground on the most challenging edu topics.
Excellent read for edu policymakers!!!

How can a Texas gubernatorial candidate increase pay for teachers and fund education if they cut property taxes and outlaw a state income tax?
What’s the plan to increase spending on the Texas education system?
