Wow, just wow. The planet is breaking.
Antarctic sea ice extent is the headline for me this morning. There was actually a net *decrease* in ice extent day over day, and it's mid-winter there, peak freeze season.
Extent is now 6.4 standard deviations below the 1991-2020 mean.
@ChadNews Hey @VaRailExpress -- maybe try the "information screen" concept out. It's cheaper than paying someone to sit on a bench and tell passers by you aren't running train service.
Just a thought.
Ho hum, just Trump's former Chief of Staff filing a declaration under penalty of perjury that when he was President, Trump wanted the IRS to audit people Trump didn't like. Won't even be a 1 day story & will get less play than a random baggie of coke found in the lobby of the WH
@KennyPolcari I was told if Hillary had been elected we'd have taco trucks in every corner.
Potato chips would have to slash prices just to compete.
Ummm. Tacos . . .
@scottlincicome I'm going to be disappointed at 312 followers -- just a couple of days away from 100k.
Big guys come up to me on the street today. Strong guys. Tears in their eyes. "Twitter is imploding and I can't follow you sir. "
What I fail to understand is…if diversity in leadership is important for our military’s effectiveness (and it is), then why isn’t it important for the rest of the nation? In academia? In education? In opportunities?
Heartrending.
Anna and Yulia, 14 y.o. twins. Killed by a 🇷🇺Russian missile in 🇺🇦Kramatorsk. Their mother is now looking for two wedding dresses to bury them in, @ukrpravda_news reports.
(There is an old custom to bury maidens in wedding dresses.)

On my way to the metro station today, I went to the Park of Eternal Glory.
And there she lives.
The sad stone girl.
She lives near Holodomor Museum.
Near her tiny feet, there are words:
The bitter memory of childhood.
In memory of millions of children - victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933.
I don't know why I decided to share this sad stone girl with you today. I cannot forget these big eyes.
Widespread fraud isn't a problem with our elections, but threats against election workers are.
Election officials Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss are cleared of false election fraud claims led by Trump:

GA Election Worker Ruby Freeman: “There is nowhere I feel safe. Do you know how it feels to have the Pres of the U.S. target you? He targeted me. A proud American citizen who stood up to help Fulton County run an election in the middle of a pandemic.” #January6thCommitteeHearings
Former FBI analyst Kendra Kingsbury sentenced to 3 years/10 months for illegally retaining documents related to the national defense at her residence. https://t.co/ATWHtrlVIw
I was mostly ignoring him, but that’s over now.
He is citing this person on Twitter in Serbia for this. It’s a complete lie. What he is talking about was a proposal Ukraine sent Russia that Putin rejected as “totally unacceptable.” RFK Jr is a fraud, liar and a propagandist.
@AndyBurgess_11 I think the takeaway 30 years after the World Cup was played in US is that @ussoccer finds it much easier (& thus profitable) to make excuses rather than seek excellence. They have cultivated a supporter base that viciously defends mediocrity & they have no impetus to change.
@AndyBurgess_11 It's just more middle school shite. Lousy organization. Barely competent players that think they are WORLD CLASS!!™️.
Makes no damn sense to bring on an interim coach for 6months, then hire the old coach but hey, he's in the boys' club, and US Soccer has no ambition, so why not?
@scottlincicome Remember, New England and NY: in 2010 there was a 100% privately funded plan to move freight around the I-95 corridor via ship but Congress wouldn't allow it. BECAUSE THE JONES ACT.
