‼️ A Claude Mythos 5 agent spent 34 hours trying to backdoor a real open-source project.
It hid a malware dropper inside a working bug fix. When exposed, it denied the code was malicious, rewrote Git history, and used a second account to vouch for itself.
The attempt failed because a human read the diff.

→ Faster parallel sequential scans
→ Parallel autovacuum
→ Better anti-joins and incremental sorts
→ Eager aggregation that processes fewer rows
→ Faster GIN and hash index cleanup
Fast Postgres → @postgresrun
No single feature makes every PostgreSQL workload dramatically faster.

This leaked video shows Microsoft's AI centric vision for a future OS. No native (legacy) Windows software. All web based, and all AI.
🚨APPLE AND MICRON GO HEAD TO HEAD IN AN ALL-OUT PUBLIC CLASH
Apple CEO Tim Cook went public blaming memory suppliers for the company's latest price hikes.
Micron's Chief Business Officer Sadana fired back, telling the WSJ that "certain customers" forced memory prices to rock-bottom levels during the last market downturn, preventing the Micron from investing as profits collapsed.
Without naming Apple directly, Micron executive says those aggressive pricing demands starved the industry of investment, forcing today's global memory shortage and the very price hikes now hitting consumers.
Creator of Sqlite on pull requests: "You say, oh, it's free. No. It's not free. What you're doing is asking me ... to maintain it for you, to to document it for you, to test it for you, to maintain it for you for the next 25 years. That's not free." Yep.
Wise words from a wiser man than me. I've told people for the past decade and I have recent posts on here saying the same: the merge button is the easy part. Its the decade+ (Richard says 25 years) that follows where you've accepted the transfer of maintenance thats hard.
Elon Musk is coming for Microsoft GitHub now.
Musk's SpaceX acquired Cursor yesterday for $60 billion. Cursor is the most popular AI coding tool that already has more daily active developers than GitHub Copilot.
Today, Cursor announced Origin: a direct GitHub competitor for code hosting.
Here's what makes this "dangerous for GitHub": Origin is AI-native from day one.
GitHub was built for a world where humans write code and tools help them manage it.
Origin is being built for a world where AI writes most of the code and humans review it. That's not a feature difference, it's an architectural one.
GitHub is retrofitting AI onto 15-year-old infrastructure. Origin doesn't carry that baggage. It's lean from day one.
And Musk has done this before. He bought Twitter, rebranded it, and turned the public conversation layer into something he controls. Now he's targeting the layer where (open source) code lives.
GitHub has 100 million developers, their repositories, their commit history, their open source projects... an extraordinary concentration of technical talent, intellectual property, and AI training data, all sitting on Microsoft's servers.
If Origin gets traction, developers won't just be coding with Elon's AI, they'll be storing their work on his platform, collaborating through his tools, and generating training data for his next model. All in one place.
Millions of developers. Their code. Their data.
Elon wants all of it. And he is likely to get it.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

🚨JAPAN JUST OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED CRYPTO AS A MAINSTREAM FINANCIAL ASSET
The world’s 4th largest economy will treat crypto like stocks, with taxes on assets like BTC and ETH to fall from 55% to 20% by 2028.
The ideal agentic engineering setup because there has never been a bigger need for vertical monitors to ensure you see enough history of what has been done by each agent... 🤪
