@Xfinity@XfinitySupport - your AI bot needs training, itโs not useful; your repair team needs training; why does cable TV never work in our area? Do you have any real people to help with real service issues?
Come on @comcastcares - I pay for Extreme Internet and am getting 1.01 Mbps download speed. Dial-up is as fast as this! Whereโs my other promised 399 Mbps right now?
@_mseeley Well stated @_mseeley. This is true for a person of any age really. Modeling, visual examples, think out louds, communicating expectations, setting norms, etc. Also, Designing with intention and being deliberate help. Running in-person vs. school online looks and feels different.
@SamanthaKiddFHS Many LMSs offer a variety of course set-up options to support Ts classroom set-ups, ie., self-paced, mastery learning, gamification, working with littles, etc. An LMS can offer both unification for Ss & Ps, but also provide Ts with a blank canvas. #coursedesignisyours
@CourtneyDaunt Ah...music to my ears @CourtneyDaunt. One positive outcome of remote teaching is that weโre now asking ourselves deeper questions about instructional methods, ways to meet learners where they are, ways to build rigor with less time bound/instructor-led activities, etc. #newnormal
@CoachDaveyPE I LOVE that question @CoachDaveyPE! I have wondered the same exact thing since COVID arrived. District Tech Team have been working non-stop to take district digital ecosystems to the next level! #bonetired#techorbust
@SamanthaKiddFHS Wonderful Qs to start posing now? I think it can be much easier to pick a tech tool to use vs. verifying the terms of service, appropriate age range, who owns the data, what happens if a breach occurs, what if parents donโt want a child using it, etc. #workwithdistricttechteam
@setkill93 @gerrits_amber Thatโs interesting you are coming to this realization on GC during remote teaching this past spring. I found the same to be true. GC is great at about 5 things, but lacked more robust LMS components needed to truly provide online learning.
@kaitlinkingFHS So glad that was a big takeaway @kaitlinkingFHS for you. There are lots of great tech tools for teaching & learning, but there are also protection acts to follow. We can do much better in K-12 protecting student privacy!
@mrsurbrook Love that analogy resonated with you @mrsurbrook because the conductor (SP) serves as a messenger for the composer. The absence of interactions between Ss & Ts can hamper potential learning, classroom community and much more.
@setkill93 On the right track @setkill93 for wanting to do additional research. In my district, weโve had lots of conversations about what synchronous and asynchronous look & feel like. Itโs so much more than just virtual F2F or a faceless classroom experience. #SPisaLiteracy#643Su20#SPOL
@jdren24 Great observation. Parent, guardian or very important person support in ES is crucial. When strategizing about online classroom community, extending to family support structures including older siblings & other VIPs in a variety of interactions canโt hurt. #itsanewnormal#643Su20
@hrc_edu That is a great question to start asking now. I appreciated the analogy of SP as a โsymphonyโs master conductorโ who synchronizes the Ts, Ss, academic content, LMS, media, tools, instructional strategies and outcomes. #643Su20#SPOResearch1
@LenaOliver_ Applying digital equity lens is moving beyond access. My district is not 1:1 yet, but pivoted quickly to deploy 3,000 devices/hundreds of hotspots for Ss. From there, took 11,551 phone calls from Ps to train/troubleshoot tech needs. Layering in new supports now. #strategicprocess
@ms_shannonblood Great Q! Agree..because there tends to be more perceived barriers in an ES setting, i.e., lack tech skills, language barriers, less than optimal family support, littles have a hard time communicating or writing deeply, etc. Solutions require a new lens. #Creativity#ES#newnormal
@Ms_Samonek Definitely takes some additional effort in an ES setting to build SP, but we are all fortunate to have some recent trial & error experience. Leveraging synch/asynch, district resources and tools to develop that comfort & trust will take some creativity! #upforthechallenge#Edu643
