@JMeddings Dr Meddings, thanks for advocating. Public may think that the stipend is high/hr per consultant which is not. It is closer to what you would make/hr at an entry level job. You may use current numbers and the tiers. Certainly is less than 25-30/hr that stipend. No value for MDs
Misinformation about the health care system is spread daily. That's why we launched a new publication: "Fact Checkup" to explain health care system topics that government needs to be accurate and accountable for. Albertans deserve to know what is going on. https://t.co/IgfUctIsgg
@bfischera@Bjwrz@AHS_YEGZone CPSA, CMPA and even Medical Staff Bylaws are very clear that as physician you cannot work under unsafe conditions as put patients at risk. AHS/CH are responsible to provide the resources for safe patient care. However….
@JMeddings Thanks Dr. Meddings. It will be good if we can even see in our publicly funded system the cost-benefit. Would be interesting too to see AH response as at the end they are the ultimate responsible. Faster access certainly will add QOL but needs to be efficient
Through delays, inaction, and poor policy choices #abhealth minister @AdrianaLaGrange is destabilizing Alberta #healthcare . This video was inspired by the decision to withhold payment from some clinics for almost 1 mo while government take vacation (1/3). #abpoli#ableg

@debramhunter@AdrianaLaGrange Minister have you asked the following simple questions 1- If a pt is admitted where the patient goes. 2- If a patient recovers from ICU where the patient goes?
@YYCCowboy@peng_dreamer Pts families choose 3 options there are circumstances that they decline all the 3 if you put that in hospital days you can’t measure how many transfers from ICU or from ED are delayed. Yes, it’s bad but also is important to see the whole picture
@PfParks@FuzzySdb Dr Parks. I would like to correct one point is that actually aren’t 4 but 5 hospitals in Edmonton Zone as you have to include the Sturgeon in St Albert which also takes care of big volumes despite the constraints in physical space and resources.
@John1MD@AdrianaLaGrange I agree longitudinal family practice will disappear if no real and meaningful action is taken. However, our AMA has been very weak in pointing the problems and the announcement of the government falls very short (being polite 😁). But, they have consulted with AMA.
@LapointeShaw@jeanstey I agree it’s quite different the MOC. Also, when you attend meetings in US for Internal Medicine you really need to choose the topics. We need more GIM doing Community Clinics.
