This apparently needs repeating: If you hold information that will change humanity as we know it, and alter our understanding of our place in the universe as humans -- then go ahead and change the world.
Army Captain Shannon Kay recipient of the Silver Star during the Iraq W@r. During a patrol in December 2004 Captain Kay and other soldiers were securing a roadside ammunition cache when they were told a su¡c¡de car b0mb was coming their way.

Texas Army Sergeant First Class Riley Gene Stephens was KIA on September 28, 2012 in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. Riley was 39 years old with 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). Remember Riley today. He is an #American Hero.🇺🇸🎖️🦅
A few days ago, our unit lost one of our reconnaissance drone operators.
He was a Chinese brother-in-arms.He had traveled halfway around the world toUkraine because he believed in something—to stand against the Russian invasion.
We had lived together in the same safe house. We ate together, trained together, and worked out together.
He was a talkative guy. He loved to chat, and he definitely enjoyed looking at beautiful women. We had been apart for only a few weeks when I suddenly received the news that he was gone.I still can't quite accept it.
He was the first foreigner our unit had lost.
Just a few days earlier, he was still full of energy, still joking around, still going on about this and that like he always did.
And then, suddenly, he was gone.
It's hard to put into words.
When his body was recovered, we learned that he and the others had been tortured. Even under torture, they refused to give up any information about our unit.
The enemy then beheaded him in an act of revenge.
When the commander of Ukraine's Northern Military District learned what had happened, he came to us immediately to offer his condolences.
He told all of the Chinese soldiers that he could not accept seeing foreigners lose their lives here.
He told us:
“This is Ukraine's war. Every one of you has a future ahead of you. You don't have to die here for a war that isn't your own. If any of you want to leave, I completely understand. I will help you get out safely. Even if you've already signed a contract, you can still leave.”
For us, it was a devastating loss—not only because we had lost a brother, Also killed alongside him was the best reconnaissance drone operator from our Second Company.
None of us chose to leave.
Instead, we made our decision.
We would stay and fight for our fallen comrade.
We will remain here until there are no Russian invaders left on Ukrainian soil.
Maybe one day, I—or one of my other comrades—will also remain here forever.
But don't grieve for me, my friend.
This is the path we chose.
And we knew what it could cost.
For a better world.
Justice will prevail.
"People aren't ready, this is gonna change everything"
You know what people weren't ready for? Fucking mammoths. Tigers eating them. Monkeys ripping their arms off. The black plague. The ice age. Smallpox. Vikings pulling up on the beach. Drinking water that gives you diarrhea until you die. Getting a scratch and losing your whole leg. The Mongols. The Spanish Inquisition.
One volcano can send us back to the dark ages and these safety guys are gonna be shocked. Oh the robots didn't kill us? It was a volcano? Imagine their disappointment as the hot ash rains down on them.
A solar flare is gonna explode your phone in your pocket your legs are gonna be covered in battery acid and your bank account will stop working. You're afraid of a computer program doing math?
"Things are moving too fast" homie you live on a rock that periodically deletes everything. You are one the most luckiest entities in a 100 light year radius living during a golden era. Cheer up.
My ancestors crossed an ocean in a wooden box because they ran out of fucking potatoes.
"The social disruption will be enormous!"
Nigga World War 2? World War 2? Hop in the people carrier we're landing on the beach.
Are these people out of their fucking minds? Do they not know what we've survived already?
A couple decades of air conditioning and people suddenly think oh this is the natural condition of mankind. No. We used to have eight kids because seven didn't make it. You're gonna be fine. Man the fuck up.
Accelerate.
Today is my 27 year anniversary of joining the Air Force.

23 years of service…
A kid from the Bronx, moving up and down the East Coast with a 2 year old daughter. I had to man up and chose to join the Air Force. She saved my life. Best decision I ever made.
