@DotDwebo @hnstld You want to make sure port 22 is still allowed. ‘sudo ufw allow 22’. ‘ufw enable’ and then ‘ufw allow 22’ basically. Do double check though. You get a nice view of ufw settings this way: ‘sudo ufw status verbose’. (Not sure if you need sudo)

@DotDwebo @hnstld I think it’s a standard warning with ufw but yeah…. It’s most likely the issue. If you enabled it universally then yeah. It assumes you are on local machine and not piping in.

@DotDwebo @hnstld If you change iptables or enable/change Ufw at all during your session it’s always good to make sure you can still get port 22 before logging out. ‘ufw status’ and ‘iptables -l’ will show you the current rules on the machine. If in doubt, ‘ufw allow 22’ will leave it open

@DotDwebo @hnstld If you can’t access the vps at all…. Does your vps provider give you an emergency console, or ‘reset iptables’? You might have to regain access this way. If you can’t access it in ssh anymore.

@DotDwebo @hnstld No it sounds like your firewall is blocking port 22 which is the one for SSH. Meaning it will throw some error when trying to reconnect. ‘Ufw ’ is normally built into Linux distros. ‘Ufw disable’ will turn it off. ‘Ufw allow 22’ will open port 22 again. But you need to access it
