We were given particular credit for our excellent student projects, and community links. We will continue to grow and create a wonderful environment for hedgehogs at @durham_uni with a new lead and new opportunities.
We achieved GOLD Hedgehog Friendly Campus status 2022-23!! An amazing achievement & we're very proud of our team.
This was the last campaign to be run by our Hedgehog Champion @RutterNik, who has led the project since 2020, but it's being left in JP Dunne's excellent hands

Since it's been quite chilly I put out some more hay for our little spiky resident 🦔 Safe to say I think it was welcome! I'm not sure there's much room left in there for hogs! (They also still get dinner on a nightly basis 🍽) @Hogfriendly_dur
Huge thank you to everyone who donated at our botanic garden collection point!
We raised £79.78, which brings our 2022 total to £144.78 for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society and their fantastic work 🦔
In collaboration with Durham University Conservation Society, staff & students are searching for fallen twigs to build hedgehog habitats & placing them around the botanic gardens for hedgehogs to start hibernation tomorrow!

We've had several reports of hedgehogs out during the day over the past 2 weeks - never a good sign.
Our local hedgehog hospital recommends that we be vigilant and put out water dishes, even if your college has a pond, as the hot weather is having a significant impact
@emilyrohrbach1 Hi Emily,
There's some great advice here, can you follow the guidance and call the number i shared earlier, as they will connect you to the nearest hedgehog hospital with spaces:
