Results suggest that beta bursts in infants and adults are generated via a common mechanism, and that different types of bursts are involved with sensorimotor processes. We’re now trying to figure out how burst generation changes across development and what these processes are!

Notably, a decrease in the rate of certain burst motifs occurred earlier during movement and was more lateralized in adults. This suggests that the rate modulation of specific types of beta bursts becomes increasingly refined with age.
