In 2024, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department proudly gave Louai Elkhatib a public award for “5 years of service.”

Less than two years later, the same department arrested him for years of sexual assaults on women in his mosque and Islamic school - allegedly using his power as imam and school administrator to prey on victims who couldn’t say no.

While Sheriff Lott was hosting Ramadan dinners, Muslim Citizens Academies, and hijab-wearing deputies for photo-ops, this guy was allegedly operating as a serial predator - all while his K4-8 Islamic school (which forces girls into Sharia hijabs) was eligible for South Carolina taxpayer-funded ESA vouchers.

This isn’t just one bad apple. It’s what happens when law enforcement trades safety for diversity optics and refuses to see the incompatibility staring them in the face.

A Dispatch from Room 8 with My Dad 

I write to you as we move from the dark of the night going into morn from Room 8 at West Virginia University hospital in Morgantown, WV. I am bedside with my father, as he lies tucked into a hospital bed under a blanket with a pattern of bluebirds and flower petals, a press of oxygen flowing into him and his arms a roadmap to his past two months. 

I’ve been bedside with my father since May when he first got diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, pancreatitis, swallowing disorder and now Covid. Born in the summer of 1933, my father has gone from being a vibrant 92, digging in his garden of okra and jasmine flowers, to a fragile 93, wasting away.

Last night, whipsawing between hospital delirium and lucidity while fiercely fighting disease, he said: “I enjoy life!”

Years ago, as West Virginia COVID czar, Dr. @ClayMarsh @WVUHealth implemented a plan to protect seniors from COVID called “Operation Save Our Wisdom,” and today I am grateful to him for unleashing his teams to save my dad’s wisdom.

I am blessed for the family I have come to know at @FoxNews Digital, led by editor-in-chief @PorterBerry and fueled by colleagues like @dorgan_michael and @MizellPreston.

Something magical has happened in these dark hospital rooms lit up with control panels: once the girl who regaled in my father’s stories of queens in India, I fell in love with my father all over again, no longer cajoling him to turn up the volume on his forever-failing hearing aids but grateful that he simply breathed beside me. He warmed my hands when I once ran track in ice-cold rain, and now I warm his, so the pulse oximeter can best read his breathing. 

I remember every journey he has made with me, driving me in our Subaru to an interview in Manhattan for an internship at Harper’s Magazine, though he’d never heard of the publication, @walterkirn and @amandafortini. He drove me to DC for graduate school, where I first learned statistical analysis, @DataRepublican @data_republican. 

When my friend Danny Pearl was kidnapped, @judeaPearl, my father told me, “It is your farz,” or duty, to try to find Danny. When I returned home with a baby in my belly, my father built a room on his home for my son and me, baby blue paint under his nails.

I thought we’d dodged a bullet after my father was discharged. You knew the grip test is a key to longevity? We’re nothing without our throat swallowing muscles strong. 

On June 14, I zipped to DC to cover protests after wishing my dad a happy 93rd birthday in rehab in Fairmont, WV, home to gymnast Mary Lou Retton. I did a street report for @TomiLahren @BigWeekendShow and @DrMarcSiegel interviewed me. Thank you Dr. Siegel for your intellectual support now.

I zipped back from DC that day to continue to learn from occupational, physical and speech therapists — some of the most underrated gems in healthcare — how to best support my father as he learned how to walk to the mailbox and back. 

Then, on the eve of Fourth of July, we were back in ER, again this time with aspirational pneumonia. A week ago, my father’s respiration rate spiked with a new diagnosis of Covid. What I have learned is we must indeed be at our loved one’s bedside to give them the best chance at survival, as @DrSuneelDhand says. @DrJBhattacharya, I’m sorry about your mother’s passing.

As @austinxwalker has done after getting slain by Covid, I have turned to technology, AI and large-language models to make sense of the data. Austin, my dad was a tech pioneer and data scientist. Let’s talk.

It is ironic that he survived the Bengal Famine of 1943 and now struggles with protein consumption. Please help me see him to recovery to protect his wisdom — our wisdom. ❤️

The Department of War rejects these baseless and malicious accusations of hiding injury numbers as outright lies from partisan hacks at the New York Times who are desperate to smear America’s military and its leadership.

Claims of concealment are fabrications meant to further distress the American people in the wake of three service members killed in action. Disgusting behavior, even for the New York Times. In fact, U.S. military casualty information is publicly available and regularly updated online on the Defense Casualty Analysis System for everyone, including the media, to review.

Injuries in the military encompass everything from minor sprained ankles during routine training to incidents entirely unrelated to combat operations. Cherry-picking raw numbers without context paints a deliberately misleading and incomplete picture.

Our troops execute the President’s directives with excellence, supported by superior training, equipment, and medical care that prioritizes safety. This is the most transparent Department of War in history. We challenge the so-called journalists who wrote these lies, one of whom was recently subpoenaed regarding an alleged violation of federal criminal law, to stop the smears against the finest warfighting force on Earth.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup was the largest sporting event in the history of the world, shattering previous attendance record by double digits. America- we got it done, ZERO major security incidents across our nation while we hosted the equivalent of 78 super bowls in 38 days, along with 40 base camps, endless fan zones, and celebrations in nearly every state.

President Trump promised his administration would deliver the most safe, secure, and fun environment for FIFA. He started by establishing the White
House FIFA Task Force some 16 months ago, and we got right to work.

This FBI led the charge dedicating nearly 5,000 personnel to the effort out of HQ, field, and international offices - across 16 host cities. And, none of what we accomplished is possible without our federal, state and local partners who all put in the same relentless effort. It’s the largest resource dedication the FBI has EVER made for a any event.

This FBI stood up a Joint Ops Center, International Police Coordination Center, Intelligence Coordination Center, and more - all from scratch- to collect and share intel in live time.
