@TDemp3@LateRoundQB@IronClarkAP Well BTJ will play the X that's pretty certain.
Washington will play the Z (confirmed by Cohen) and also mix in the slot (with Meyers).
The only question to me is whether or not Washington will stay on the field in 12 or not.
Everything the #Jaguars have said about Parker Washington since Liam Coen became head coach — pulled from the Coachspeak Index Discord, and presented by @DraftKings:
HC LIAM COEN (07/25/25): Parker Washington has had a really good start, I’ve been pleased with him. He’s gone up and made plays. He’s got the right mindset, he’s strong, he can kind of work second-level releases on people when they try to get hands on him.
OC GRANT UDINSKI (08/06/25): Parker Washington can win consistently against man coverage and tight coverage. He can make plays on the ball and attack the ball with his hands.
We can trust him at different spots.
COEN (08/17/25): Parker Washington just consistently keeps competing at a high level. Every day, he makes a play. Every day, he’s in the right spot at the right time, working his tail off. I love his play energy. He doesn’t really fatigue that much, he’s in great physical shape. I’ve been very pleased with Parker.
UDINSKI (08/20/25): It’s a huge range of route tree, blocking assignments, and different alignments that Parker Washington has to manage, so just the mental aspect of him being able to gain the level of mastery to go out there and play one position on one play, and then turn around the very next play and play a totally different position in a different spot and be asked to express a different skill set on a play-to-play basis is really impressive. And then you see the plays that he makes when the ball is thrown his way.
You saw the flashes of him being able to play all three positions, it was just ultimately about building that level of consistency and giving him the opportunities to go out there and make those plays, which he’s taken advantage of.
“I certainly think he’ll be a really big part of our offense. Like I said, the plays that he’s making, that flexibility he provides to play multiple positions, sets him up for that success.”
COEN (09/17/25): [on whether Parker Washington has earned a bigger role in the offense] Absolutely. He has continued to ascend and perform on the practice field, in the meeting rooms, and on Sundays. When we went into last week, we wanted to get him a bigger role and to get him going. We didn’t do a good enough job of that in Week 1. He’s absolutely earned a bigger role.
UDINSKI (09/18/25): Parker Washington’s shiftiness poses a challenge for defenders. The other great thing he’s done is being able to track the ball and get it.
COEN (09/21/25): We were kinda going into this game with a little bit more for Parker Washington, based off of last week and the way that he practiced all week.
COEN (09/22/25): Parker Washington had a phenomenal week of practice last week. I have lost zero confidence in him.
COEN (09/24/25): [on Parker Washington’s drops] I have not lost any confidence in Parker, by any means. Stuff happens. He works his tail off every single day. Last week was his best week of practice since we’ve been here.
UDINSKI (09/25/25): Parker Washington has made plays when he’s had opportunities. I think the way he’s worked and continued to progress, he’ll continue to have opportunities to make plays.
COEN (11/09/25): Parker Washington keeps making plays. We were trying to get him the rock multiple ways. He just keeps doing his thing, he’s helping us win every week, and I appreciate him for that.
COEN (11/26/25): Parker Washington has been one of our top performing receivers since training camp. He’s worked his tail off to learn the system since we got here, he’s one of the first guys in the building every day, takes super care of his body, very intentional about the way he practices and goes about his business. He’s made plays for us in a lot of ways on Sundays. He’s definitely trusted, he’s somebody we count on to continue to make plays.
COEN (12/21/25): Parker Washington is so explosive. He’s so strong, his lower half is very explosive. He works extremely hard to prepare in the offseason and during the season.
COEN (12/28/25): Parker Washington is so reliable as a competitor. You know where he’s gonna be, you know what he’s gonna do. Trevor Lawrence trusts him, there’s a trust level there, there’s a continuity there. He has a good football feel. He’s been able to make people miss and have a lot of run-after-catch, which really helps your offense.
COEN (01/11/26): Parker Washington had a great season, especially towards the tail end. He just continued to rise to the occasion. He’s such a tough competitor, he played his ass off. I appreciate Parker to the fullest, and look forward to working with him in the future.
GM JAMES GLADSTONE (01/14/26): Sometimes you question whether what you’re seeing in training camp is a real reflection of what you’ll see in the regular season. With Parker Washington, training camp didn’t lie to us. That was no fraudulent exposure, that was an accurate interpretation. When his opp presented itself, he certainly stepped up and helped our cause.
COEN (05/26/26): [on what the next step is for Parker Washington] He’s done a nice job so far this spring. I thought we saw some flashes early last season, and there was consistency towards the end of the season when he was a dominating presence with the things he was able to do in the slot and also outside for us. I think activating him a little bit, continuing to work on the ball-in-hand stuff that he can do at a high level because of the way he’s built and wired. Continuing to work on the screen game and those things, getting him the ball on jet sweeps and some of those things. And then the complete route tree of slot and outside and doing all those things is a step he can take.
UDINSKI (05/26/26): [on expectations for Parker Washington] I think really, really highly of Parker. We think that he’s capable of what he did at the end of last season, and more than that. Our expectation for him is to continue to grow and do even more than he did last year. He’s a highly, highly capable player, who’s capable of even more.
COEN (06/09/26): [on what kind of trust Parker Washington has earned with Coen over the last year] A ton. He communicates what he sees on the field. The relationship between he and Trevor Lawrence has continued to grow and develop. His toolbox allows him to play inside, play outside, run routes at all three levels. I think his football knowledge has just continued to ascend. I just think his overall knowledge has really elevated over the last year, so that makes it a lot easier to work with somebody and to trust them that they’re gonna do the right thing on gameday.
@DhananiZain Hey I just want to say that you're crushing it right now.
I turned on notifications because everything you do is super valuable right now.
