Quebec🇨🇦 has officially announced that the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) will re‑open on July 2, 2026, and stay open for two years until July 2, 2028.

The reopening will happen in two phases, with the first phase (July 2–Oct 31, 2026) limited to people who were already eligible when the PEQ was suspended on Nov 19, 2025, including both international graduates and skilled workers.

To apply, candidates must be living in Quebec and must meet the same eligibility criteria that existed before the program was paused.

Graduate Stream Requirements:
• Quebec post‑secondary credential (earned by Nov 19, 2025)
• Lived in Quebec for at least half of the program
• Credential earned within the last 3 years
• French: NCLC 5 (reading/writing), NCLC 7 (speaking/listening)

Worker Stream Requirements:
• 2 years of skilled Quebec work experience (as of Nov 19, 2025)
• Currently employed in a qualifying job
• French: NCLC 7 (speaking/listening)

There is no application cap for Phase 1. New forms drop on June 17, 2026; old forms won’t be accepted.

Quebec will temporarily reduce PSTQ invitations until October 31, then adjust them based on the number of PEQ applications received. The province plans to split CSQs 50/50 between PEQ and PSTQ until 2029.

This reopening is temporary; Quebec plans to sunset the PEQ in July 2028 and move all economic immigration selection to the PSTQ.
