@Katy_Faust When my daughter (adopted from China at 2) was 5, she’d been asking about her birth mother and was hoping someday she could have a photo of her. I asked if she was interested in bio dad - she looked confused, pointed to my husband and said, “that’s my dad”. Bio moms matter! 💕

@LelandVittert I’m loving the book! My daughter is 8, mostly non-verbal, and we were lucky enough to adopt her from a traumatic history. BUT, I don’t want her to live as a victim. She loves to run, so we’re running together. I believe we’ll see behavior and cognitive changes! ��

1) Bend your knee to Jesus

2) Go to church

3) Read your Bible & pray everyday, and live out of it

4) Find a cute girl who loves Jesus and get married young

5) Have at least 1 more kid than you think you can afford

@howertonjosh Number 5!!!! So many Christians fall into line with current cultural norms with this one. Super thankful to be parents to 8 children. We don’t get the fancy vacays but we are far richer than most in what counts.

#Adoption is not a “solution” to #infertility. It’s not a way for adults to “get kids.”

Adoption is a just society’s response to children who have lost their parents. It’s a means of restoring to children a loving mother and father.

Sometimes there is overlap between infertility and the best interests of the adopted child. But the adults’ primary motivation must be to bear the child’s burden, not have the child relieve theirs.
