@TCMLLC good morning my friend hope you are well. I was wondering if you had a tool where you could combine power earnings gaps, 3 weeks tight bases with a trend of 2 or 3 OELS within certain time frames?
My conversation with Alex Sacerdote, founder of Whale Rock Capital Management.
Alex runs more than $17B and has been one of the best performing tech investors for years, though he keeps a low public profile.
As you'll hear, he is singular in how he thinks about investing through technology cycles.
For over 25 years, he has built his entire investment framework around a single idea, the S-curve.
We discuss:
- The AI L-Curve
- When to buy into an S-curve and when to sell out
- The de-commoditization of data center hardware
- Why he went net short software
- His two models for tech adoption
- Finding alpha
Enjoy!

MARKET DESKS WARN OF SHARPER EQUITY UNWINDS AFTER FRIDAY ROUT
Goldman Sachs and Barclays traders warn Fridayβs selloff may signal deeper fragility, not a one-off move. They cite crowded momentum positioning, weak market breadth, and higher-for-longer rates as factors increasing the risk of abrupt factor unwinds. Goldman says such positioning can amplify volatility beyond index moves, while Barclays warns volatility-control funds may need to cut US equity exposure after the rout. Systematic strategies remain vulnerable, with AI, rates, and inflation risks seen as key triggers for further downside.
Shout out to TickerMonkey @DonShrein who is a constant student and has dove deeper into the DeMark work in recent months.
I was looking at these 3 spots today on /NQ and this afternoon Don replied to me with :
"This is actually a 9β 13β9 sequence.
A 9β13β9 is one of the more important β and more misunderstood β DeMark Sequential patterns.
It is essentially a second exhaustion signal occurring shortly after the first one.
Think of it as:
Exhaustion β failed reversal / renewed trend β second exhaustion
DeMark viewed this as potentially a higher-confidence reversal condition because the market has exhausted itself twice."
While I didn't circle the 13 on the daily /NQ this afternoon here it is on the daily $QQQ
These require confirmation with a close below, and as has been seen in this Power Trend that never occurred.
7wk rule with 10ma is on watch as well.
Get any of those things and we may finally get some rest/consolidation.
