@NCParker73@DanikaXIX Hard disagree. It made me laugh out loud. It's a funny fleeting visual gag and it playfully lampoons modern pronoun culture without making a statement about it, and informs you right away who the character is.
That's genius writing.
@MichaelDerham2@merchant47@IAMLordIAM@magicinthealps Yes, but if you hadn't noticed, the UK is a car crash right now. Everything is failing, every institution catestrophically broken, the government couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.
If you think the UK could implement the death penalty more efficiently, you're dreaming
@JudgeDrokk Worst of all, TG Jones is a completely made up name that doesn't reference a real person. The marketing people literally just cooked up a name that was a bit like WH Smith! ๐ญ
@DaveSwift499205@BasedNorthmathr@adje__ Incorrect. The figure I referenced is from the Death Penalty Information Center, which specifically excludes the procedural cases you're describing.
@BasedNorthmathr@adje__ Yes, I do. The data from the USA is a clear example of this.
Do you really believe that no additional costs are incurred with implementing the death penalty? Martin Lewis doesn't just come along with a tree and a piece of rope.

@BasedNorthmathr@adje__ Yes. The average death penalty in America is ten times more expensive than life imprisonment due to the associated costs.
The fact you find that funny shows that you have no idea what you're arguing for.
@BasedNorthmathr@adje__ "The odd wrongful conviction"
In America, one in ten of all death row convicts have been exonerated. ONE IN TEN.
Life imprisonment eliminates the chance of a criminal doing it again, it is cheaper than the death penalty, and it doesn't require slaughtering the innocent.
@MichaelDerham2@merchant47@IAMLordIAM@magicinthealps Death row doesn't exist just for fun.
ONE IN TEN people on death row were exonerated, after evidence emerged that they couldn't possibly have committed the crime.
Fairytale "clear cut" cases are vanishingly rare.
The Death Penalty is not a viable option.
@dandaniko12@Con_Tomlinson@LBC@TomSwarbrick1 The average death row inmate is in there for 20 years costing the state enormous amounts of money in appeals etc + they still have to be housed the whole time. There is literally no benefit to death penalty other than to appease a primal desire, at the cost of innocent collateral
@MichaelDerham2@merchant47@IAMLordIAM@magicinthealps Wrong. Death penalty is more expensive and wouldn't ease prison crowding.
The average time spent on death row is 20 years. The trial/appeal process for capital punishment is far lengthier, more complicated, and more expensive.
"Not many"?? One innocent death is too many.
@frederi21962339@MargotDA33 Yes, and their incorrect verdict is soon to be quashed. Letby forgetting she had a shredder is laughably irrelevant, just like the paperwork that didn't even relate to the indictment. But can't admit that you were fooled and need something to cling on to.
