At the 2021 HOMY Summit, Deandra pitched an idea for a 24-hour drop-in center, where young people experiencing homelessness could stop by and get food, access to Wi-Fi, and other services.

YVAC member Deandra Joseph is open about her experiences with homelessness. She said, “I was always in the library searching for resources, which I did not find.” She said once she enrolled at Miami Dade College she received support, and now she advocates for youth.

@WLRN Young leaders with the @HomyCollective held their annual summit on Wednesday to discuss the issue of youth homelessness.

Audrey Aradanas, the Assistant Director of Programs for Miami Homes for All, said, "everyone deserves a safe and stable place to sleep."
