@AFCLeopards has long been, and continues to be,a symbol of excellence and one of the most historic football clubs in Kenya.

This morning,I had the honour of leading the AFC Leopards family to State House, Nairobi,where we were graciously hosted by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto.

As a former official and proud member of this great club, I had the privilege of presenting several key issues affecting the team to the Head of State on behalf of the club ahead of the new season,which begins next month,with a focus on strengthening its competitiveness and operations. I am pleased to report that the President made the following key commitments:

This afternoon,I held a productive engagement with Trans Nzoia Senator,@HonAllanChesang ,who paid me a courtesy call at my office.We held fruitful discussions on matters of national importance,with particular focus on strengthening collaboration to advance the cooperative and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)sectors,which remain key pillars of Kenya's economic growth,job creation and wealth generation.

We also explored opportunities through which Trans Nzoia County can benefit from the Ministry's programmes aimed at expanding access to affordable financing, enhancing enterprise development,strengthening cooperative societies and creating sustainable livelihoods.

Through continued collaboration with leaders across the country, we remain committed to ensuring that government interventions deliver tangible socio-economic impact to communities.

Lemme beat for you guys a short story. On this day, many of us in the opposition felt hopeless. Just like today, ODM's Pride & Ego was through the roof. People like Oguda mocked Ruto at every opportunity, and it often seemed like victory was out of reach. I still remember Mugonyi, who was then the Head of Comms in the DP’s office telling us & Kina Aoko to bare with them bcoz they didn't have money to pay us

But at that point, we were not blogging for money, Uhuru & his Handshake brother walikua wametufika kwa koo. We had a very organized and relentless Kenya Kwanza digital team. We fought until the very end, and eventually, we won the battle.

After the swearing-in, we were invited to State House for a luncheon. That was the last time I saw Ruto, Mugonyi, and kina Itumbi with my sanpanku eyes. What followed was betrayal, intimidation, and threats.

One person who stood out for me was @HonAllanChesang. He never forgot the people who had supported him on his journey. Having just been elected Senator & appointed Chairperson of the ICT Committee, he called and offered me an opportunity to work in Parliament under the committee he was chairing.

I respectfully declined but requested that he consider someone close to me instead, and he graciously obliged. I turned down the offer because I believed something even bigger was on the horizon... Only to be left staring at Poverty with my sanpanku eyes,, Chesaa!!

Fortunately for me, I had left my former employer on good terms. Despite having resigned, they welcomed me back, and that's how I returned to the NGO field. My experience with the Kenya Kwanza govt taught me one of life's greatest lessons: loyalty does not always guarantee reward, and sometimes govt eat its own people.

The very people I had defended were the same people who turned against me. The injustices we had fought so hard to oppose were eventually directed to us bloggers. But that's the nature of politics. It comes with no guarantees and no instruction manual.

Today I choose not to dwell on the disappointments. Instead, I look back with gratitude. Every setback shaped me, every betrayal made me wiser, and every closed door prepared me for another opportunity.

Above all, I thank God for bringing me this far. The journey hasn't been easy, but it has been worth it. My story should serve as a lesson to those who think that they're immune to betrayal & oppression just coz they're defending the govt or the opposition.

H.E. President @WilliamsRuto assumed office with a clear commitment to making Universal Health Coverage (UHC) a reality, recognising that a strong healthcare system depends on a sufficient, well-trained workforce.

That commitment is evident in the completion of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Kitale Campus in Trans Nzoia County, whose construction began in April 2024 and was completed barely two years later in January, 2026.

Although yet to be officially commissioned, the Campus is operational since March, 2026 and is already playing a critical role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The institution currently hosts more than 600 students pursuing programmes in Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Mortuary Science, Emergency Medical Technician, distance-learning nursing for practising health workers and other health-related courses.

It features 12 classrooms, a library, ICT laboratory, administrative offices and learning spaces that provide a conducive environment for quality medical training.

As the Government continues to expand the pipeline of skilled health workers needed to sustain UHC, the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration remains committed to safeguarding these gains by ensuring the security of learning institutions, protecting public investments and maintaining the stable environment necessary for uninterrupted training of Kenya's future healthcare workforce. While implementing transformative projects under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), H.E President William Ruto is equally committed to unlocking and completing long-stalled developments, ensuring wananchi benefit from projects that had remained dormant despite years of public investment.

A notable example is the Masinde Muliro Ultra-Modern Market in Kitale Town, whose construction was initiated in August 2022, during the tenure of former Governor Patrick Khaemba before stalling for years until the involvement of the National Government.

Construction has now surpassed 95% completion and is being finalised for immediate handover to local traders.

Designed to accommodate between 3,000 and 3,600 small and medium-scale traders, the facility provides organised spaces for fresh produce vendors, household goods dealers, apparel traders and other specialised businesses, helping move traders from vulnerable roadside stalls into a modern and secure trading environment.

Given its strategic location at the heart of Kitale's commercial and transport hub, the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration is working closely with security agencies, local administrators and transport stakeholders to support orderly occupation, enhance public safety, manage traffic and maintain a conducive environment for market operations.
