Today's judgement by Hon Justice Bernad Namanya accepting that the vote recount was full of irregularities and violeted electoral laws but the non compliance did not affect the results is a big test to the Judiciary as we await the Court of Appeal's decision on the matter.
UPDATE: NUP's Rose Nalubowa, who challenged Justine Nameere’s election as Masaka City Woman MP, has announced plans to appeal the High Court ruling that dismissed her petition. Addressing journalists after the ruling, Nalubowa and her lawyers said they were dissatisfied with the decision, arguing that the court’s finding of irregularities in the recount process should have had a bearing on the final decision. They said they would seek redress from the Court of Appeal, accusing the High Court of doing Masaka voters a disservice.
