@Froggiteacher It is great learning new tips and tricks for Schoology. I had never used it prior to this course and I feel like there is still so much to learn but I think it is a great tool to use in the classroom. Thanks for sharing! #wuedt6020
@smalley_21 Other than IPads, the SmartBoard is the piece of technology I use on a daily basis. Whether it is for an activity where the students need to come up to the SmartBoard or just a place to post information, I use the SmartBoard everyday in my classroom. #wuedt6020
@SarahQJ@Schoology This course is my first experience with Schoology other than seeing it from a student perspective with a student I tutor. So far I am loving Schoology and am learning something new each time I log on. There are so many great tools to use! Thanks for sharing! #wuedt6020
@nicoleabes618 Technology is a great way for students to collaborate. I am familiar with Google docs but have never used Padlet or Lucid Press so I will have to check those out. Thanks for sharing! #wuedt6020
@k_alexander213 @GoogleForEdu Thanks for sharing! Google Docs does make it very nice for collaborating and sharing. I haven't had my students use it often because it is difficult for them to type a lot on IPads, but our team uses google docs to keep share and update information with each other. #wuedt6020
@AJohnsonCape I feel mastery of a few technology resources is more beneficial than as many as possible. I teach 8th grade and our students have to remember logins for two math programs and one reading program online and often forget or mix up their passwords. #wuedt6020
@meborger I teach 8th grade math enrichment. Each student receives an IPad in my class to work on either Front Row or Prodigy. I assign concepts to reinforce what they are learning in their regular math class. I also sometimes use Kahoot! #wuedt6020
@ccottee001 Our students use Front Row for math and Achieve3000 for reading on a daily basis. Students also play Prodigy for math. In addition, several teachers use Class Dojo and/or Remind to help with parent communication. #wuedt6020
@LatoriaBanks The biggest struggle in trying to implement technology would be availability at home. Many students have phones but some programs don't have apps available for a phone. Another struggle is keeping students on a certain program during class instead of surfing the web! #wuedt6020
@katieham17@melinda65477521 My students use SnapChat all the time as well, but I haven't used it very much myself so I couldn't think of any ways to incorporate it into the classroom setting. I like the idea of posting a lesson or quiz to your story board. #wuedt6020
@MrJasper1990 I have used Remind with my students in class as well as when coaching. It is great being able to communicate without sharing personal phone numbers. I never thought about using it for global pen pals but that is a great idea! #wuedt6020
Twitter is a great tool for the classroom to connect with others locally and globally. Twitter is quick and easy to use. Students can use a hashtag to follow peers in their classroom. They ca also follow accounts related to a specific subject. #wuedt6020
@katieham17 I would also like to try Virtual Reality in my classroom if the technology was available. I teach math as well and it is sometimes hard for middle school students to see how math is used in the real world. With VR, students could see math being used in the real world. #WUEDT6020
The emerging trend I would like to use more often in my classroom is #gamification. My students play Prodigy and love it and I would like to find other ways to incorporate games into my lessons because middle school students seem to love any type of competition/game. #WUEDT6020
@oneteachertwo#WUEDT6020 My students play Prodigy on Ipads as well. Most days the students are on a program called Front Row, but they ask me everyday if they are allowed to get on Prodigy. They love the game aspect and I love that I can have them working on a specific standard! #gamification
