I don’t see how you can read the @nhannahjones article and not be moved to tears/action at the reminder of the fact the majority of our children are in public schools that don’t allow their potential to flourish and instead seem to do the opposite.

Ashley Whitehead, 56, was in line for cotton candy at the Bite of Seattle festival when shots rang out at Seattle Center.

She was hit in the pelvis, and before she was taken to the hospital, she told her daughter I love you and that everything would be OK. She died in surgery.

Pope Francis used his last public address to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Even as he was hospitalised, he maintained his commitment to check in on a daily basis with priests and parishioners at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City.

Rest in peace.

I’m a proud southerner. It rips me apart how the american south is treated like a racist unsaveable wasteland. the south is full of queer people, poc, people who can’t leave due to funds. Please don’t forget the south in your activism, don’t leave southerns to suffer in silence.

In 2019, @kuowradioactive was my first introduction to journalism and changed the course of my career goals altogether. Pretty disappointed in this decision made by KUOW leadership. Anyways, support local youth journalism y'all.

Seattle's local NPR station, @KUOW, announces layoffs today of nearly 10% of its staff positions. This includes axing the entire @kuowradioactive Youth Media program. Not a great day for local journalism in this city.
