@sharpest_rose the whole weirdness about quiche in the american [anglo?] consciousness is/was so funny to me. like, ah yes, eggs and green leafies are good and manly, unless they're prepared in this particular way in which case go fuck yourself.
@jmatonak honestly, "we actually put in wheelchair ramps but you *do* have to exchange all your money to wizard money to buy anything here" would be the kind of commitment to authenticity i could get behind.
unfortunately, as you know, jo.
therapy is complicated now bc I’ll say something like “I sometimes feel obsessively paranoid that I am being surveilled and recorded everywhere I go” and neither my therapist nor I can tell if that’s actually a delusion anymore lol
@pearwaldorf "I'm embarrassed about the genre elements of the thing i'm adapting" were the sources of some of the weakest elements of Game of Thrones TV and the Nolan Batman films imo.
@pearwaldorf Like, there definitely is a danger in getting people *too* caught up in weird fan shit when you primarily hire fans, but hiring people who are specifically *not* fans is how you get genre adaptations by people who are clearly embarrassed about the genre elements of the work.
Being a vampire only seems cool in a time period when night life actually exists. Imagine it's like 1253 and nothing is going on at night. People only really get together five times a year and they all go into a church. They music you like won't be invented for 700 years
@carol_finn@le_chadd@eaton@tzraick It does seem Twitter used to have a pretty high number of female employees, but I'd imagine the requirement to work in-person and the whole "code review at 1am" increase in hours probably hit women harder, since they culturally tend to have more duties at home [childcare etc].
Likely actual answer: it will be automated and wildly abusable; if you are being mass reported for innocuous tweets, there will be no actual humans to complain to about it.
New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach.
Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter.
You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet.
