@TomKindlon Yes, I’ve had to learn that to keep at a baseline, I have to do absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing. It’s the only way I can stay somewhat stable and sane. Some days I can stitch a few stitches of my textile work, but I have to be mindful of my limits.

@fouziaRC005 @MyronGainesX Absolutely untrue: “In Muslim countries, non-Muslims practice faith freely.” I worked for 2 years in a Muslim country; no churches, could not go 2 church openly, nor wear chain cross around our neck, could not write “t” on whiteboard without the flick! We respected local laws.

@AI80sOptimist @TheBritLad I did two yrs teaching in the UAE and it was impossible to ensure children went home at the end of the school with mothers wearing the burkha and the veil. It was absolutely terrifying. We had to recognise mother via voice, shoes, jewellery-absolutely terrifying and ridiculous.

@RupertLowe10 And a primary school near me has restructured their school day to accommodate prayer times and getting to mosque, this is not British education. Is there anywhere else in the world that has allowed this? When I taught in UAE it was their rules or be arrested and deported.
