The Odyssey begins by showing an African rapper with rasta in the role of a Greek poet. We Greeks are forced to watch our Greek history and culture being disgraced and mocked across the entire world. What is Nolan's real role in doing something like this instead of casting a Greek person speaking Greek? What's the purpose of casting someone with rasta in the Greek world?

I'll tell you. Nolan and Hollywood are the real racists and enemies of the West. They hate us Greeks. The simplest confirmation comes from the fact that when a film is about African history, they don't cast white people, only Africans. When it's about Chinese or Japanese history, they cast only Asians, and they even speak only in their own language. But now that the time has come for a film based on Greek history with Greeks, not a single Greek is cast, they don't speak even a bit of Greek, and they don't even respect Homer. So, for films about European cultures, Africans, Asians, and anything else must be cast, but when it comes to African culture, whites are not allowed to play those roles.

This is the real racism of Hollywood.

Hollywood is a cancer that rots your souls and enslaves your minds and spirits. They hate you and they want to destroy you. Never forget the real enemies of the West and of your race. Those who are in universities, the academics, teaching your children how to hate their ancestors instead of honoring them. Don't do them the favor. Love the Greco-Roman world and fight those who hate you.

There’s something called “suspension of disbelief” and it’s necessary for any narrative to be successful, whether it’s a book or a film. One of the strongest professions of faith in the Middle Ages was the “credo quia absurdum est”—“I believe it because it is absurd.” According to this formula, absurdity—the sheer incomprehensibility of something—is actually what makes it (i.e. religion) worth believing. Indeed, it is a test of faith that you can suspend your disbelief and surrender to absurdity and God’s incomprehensible plan.

If you want to understand ideology and tyranny today, this is something you have to grasp. You are forced on a daily basis to believe things that are absurd. This is a test. Diversity is our strength. Standing six feet away from other people will prevent the spread of an airborne respiratory virus. Helen of Troy actually looked like the Predator without its mask on (“You’re one ugly motherfucker,” Dutch snarls…). Etc.

There is nothing subversive or clever about this film. Whatever Jonathan Pageau or that abysmal lisping rape-apologist Tom Holland says, Christopher Nolan is not doing symbolic jiu-jitsu. This film is a pure ruse of power. Every second this woman is on screen and you surrender to the notion she is Helen of Troy—the face that launched a thousand ships—you are literally enslaved to a power that wants to destroy you and your ancestors—not just your stories and traditions, but your actual existence—right back to the beginning. All you have to do is turn your face away and refuse to look.

The reason Paige as a solider doesn’t work is because 1: Paige is five foot nothing and looks like a hundred pounds of dehydrated beef jerky in a vacuum sealed bag.

And 2: There is a swinging dick swagger that men with a testosterone level higher than that of a prepubescent girl have that comes naturally. It’s the swagger that has like 80% of men thinking they could fight off a wild lion if forced to. Brad Pitt had it when he played Achilles.

All the testosterone injections in the world aren’t gonna turn Paige into a convincing figure in a set of Spirit Halloween armor. It can’t be taught, it can’t be bought, and it’s not convincing anyone.

It’s entirely possible for a shorter guy to have a level of gravitas or intimidation. Prime ECW Taz had it in spades. You could tell by one look that he was. Human pitbull, but again that swagger takes something no gravely voiced line delivery can impart.

Running like a kid with a full diaper trying to catch the school bus is not just laughable, it’s something that should have had a friend take Nolan aside and say “This is entirely unconvincing.”

There's only one Greek cast member in the Odyssey. When Black Panther was made, Lupita Nyong'o praised it for drawing carefully from real African cultures and avoiding cultural misrepresentation.

Then they asked her to defend playing Helen of Troy and her answer was that it was a mythological story.

So was Wakanda.

When it came time to build that fictional space of Wakanda, fidelity was sacred. But when the myth was Greek suddenly we should all relax.

There are two rulebooks the left plays by. One for their protected cultures which are holy, and one for European civilization which should be considered open source.
