#WATCH | Jodhpur, Rajasthan: In a major boost to India’s indigenous defence technology ecosystem, Hoverit successfully conducted an operational demonstration of its tactical loitering munition platform, Divyastra Mk-1, in Jodhpur in the presence of senior Indian Army leadership.
As part of the demonstration, the Divyastra Mk-1 UAV was successfully launched multiple times from a vehicle-mounted mobile launcher configuration, showcasing the platform’s rapid deployment capability, battlefield mobility, and tactical launch readiness under field conditions. The exercise further validated the UAV’s ability to support dynamic ISR and reconnaissance missions in operational environments.
The Divyastra Mk-1 is an indigenous tactical UAV developed for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and precision strike missions. With an operational range of up to 500 km and an endurance of up to 5 hours, the platform is designed to support long-duration surveillance, target acquisition, and tactical engagement requirements. The UAV can be configured with EO/IR payloads, communication relay systems, and mission-specific warhead configurations, providing operational flexibility across diverse mission profiles.

One of the largest platforms in its class built by an #Indian#startup
This is not a single test.
This is system engineering in layers.

@hoveritofficial just completed high-speed taxi trials of the #Divyastra MK2 — 2,000 km range, 50–100 kg payload, AI swarm intelligence, GPS-denied navigation, built in #India's A&D corridor. Our journey from tactical #Baaz #drones at 14,000 feet to a strategic strike platform in under three years is one of the most compelling build stories in India’s defence ecosystem right now.
A 2,500 km / 250 km/h / 100–150 kg payload military-grade drone is not a scale-up — it’s a generational #architecture jump. The #propulsion decision alone defines everything. You need a small turbofan in the 1,000–2,000 N thrust bracket. It saves 20–30% fuel over a #turbojet, sustains the cruise #speed, and is the only engine class that makes 2,500 km viable at this weight.
A drone that runs inference on foreign silicon has a foreign node in its kill-chain. The full autonomy stack — path planning, sensor fusion, threat re-tasking, terminal engagement — must run on Indian-designed compute, with #NavIC as the primary navigation layer and model weights trained on Indian operational data. #GPS should be the last resort, not the backbone. Shield AI’s #Hivemind completed 130+ combat sorties in #Ukraine with zero GPS, zero comms, and zero human operator. That is the benchmark we at #Hoverit are trying to match and exceed, sovereignly.
The #airframe philosophy matters as much as the specs. Design it as a bus, not a platform — every mechanical, electrical, and data interface defined as an open standard so sensors, compute, and engines upgrade across generations while the airframe flies for twenty years. And build in recoverability from day one. The same platform should be configurable as a recoverable UCAV or an expendable munition depending on mission — that duality is the economic force multiplier that makes unit economics viable at scale.
No single company closes this gap alone. It needs HoverIT, GTRE for propulsion, BEL for certified avionics, an IIT-startup consortium for sovereign AI, and C-DAC for the NPU silicon layer. The policy architecture to fund long-cycle "true" #deeptech — patient capital, milestone-based government offtake, and a genuine prime-sub ecosystem — is the invisible infrastructure that makes or breaks all of it.
#HoverIT has lit the spark. The window to build the rest of this correctly — #sovereign, #modular, #futureproof — is 2025 to 2028. After that, we are chasing again 😊

🇮🇳 India just unveiled an AI-powered kamikaze drone with a 2,000km range and 12-hour endurance.
Every major power is now racing to mass-produce cheap one-way attack drones, the weapon that's rewriting the rules of modern war.
Expensive interceptor missiles vs. cheap drones. The math isn't pretty.
