To say Spielberg ruined movies, you have to pretend that everyone from Cecil B. DeMille to D.W. Griffith didn't exist and then pretend that there were lines around the block for Barbara Loden's Wanda until one man deviously showed the world that sharks are pretty cool.
This is the most significant weekend in the film industry in over 30 years. Stories about being a child flying across the country on an airplane have forever shifted the paradigm. There is no turning back, there are no rules, chaos reigns. It is glorious.
