🚨 WATCH: Minnesota mayors sound the alarm on impacts of fraud and poor fiscal management on their cities

"Affordability is collapsing in the state of Minnesota and unfunded mandates are crushing our communities," says Crosslake Mayor Jackson Purfeerst.

According to Purfeerst, Gov. Tim Walz acknowledged in a past meeting that the "Department of Human Services was being abused."

"If this abuse was known, why were stronger safeguards not put in place sooner? ... The crisis was not sudden, it was simply ignored.

"Mayors see up close how catastrophic fiscal policy and unchecked fraud hollow out our cities, strain our budgets, and drive up taxes."

More than 250 mayors have signed onto a letter calling on state leaders to reverse course.
