The first Version of Record is now published on the new #openresearch platform that I helped build when I was at @MicrobioSoc!
Congrats to all at MBS who made this happen, and to the fantastic authors who put their trust in MBS by choosing to publish with this new model!
Today marks a major milestone for our innovative open research platform #AccessMicro: the first Version of Record since its launch this year has been published. Learn more about this exciting development: https://t.co/92MWTB2Rla #PublishingForTheCommunity
Announcement of how our new open research platform was built by 'stitching' together our three technology providers. It was fantastic working with them all in building this for our community! #OpenScience
[1/2] @MicrobioSoc collaborates with @AriesSystems, Kriyadocs, and @WeAreIngenta to launch the cutting-edge open research platform, Access Microbiology. Read more in our press release: https://t.co/j7uAMqA154
We are thrilled to share this interview featuring Alexandra Howat from the Microbiology Society! From research integrity to current challenges and future trends in peer review, this interview covers a variety of pertinent topics.

@drs1969@alpsp This is I think where it is we as publishers should take some responsibility whilst the education process is ongoing. Labelling preprints explicitly as so, linking to definitions of what they are/how they should or shouldn’t be used etc. So we begin to educate!
It's sometimes tricky to explain to non-technical stakeholders why #datacuration is important. This is a great visual for illustratrating the 'R' of FAIR (reusable), arguably the whole point of #FAIRdata
Couldn’t have had more fun at the @MicrobioSoc summer party yesterday - even if I did lose crazy golf by a million kilometres (imperial doesn’t get my attention)
Today in partnership with @emblebi, we’re releasing predicted structures for nearly all catalogued proteins known to science, which will expand the #AlphaFold database by over 200x - from nearly 1 million to 200+ million structures: https://t.co/GjVES2pBFY 1/
Its just occurred to me that this is the 12th paper I've co-authored in Microbial Genomics. This is a really excellent society journal (@MicrobioSoc), where open science has been at the heart of it from the beginning.

Really great tool too assess the scientific impact/gender/collaboration/open access of universities worldwide, based on advanced bibliometric indicators. So much better than most ranking and league tables!
The Leiden Ranking 2022 has just been released! We have increased the number of universities from 1225 to 1318. For more info, go to: https://t.co/uFFH7zI70e
Pleased to have been able to add my comment on the lack of #EDI people still face in academia in @guardian below. The study is worth a read @MicrobioSoc
