@JGumlickpuk#edet628 FT: I already mentioned this, but my students are exploring through a science fair project during this time away from school. It includes the experiment and a research component. It's usually my final project for this class, but is perfect for this situation!
@JGumlickpuk#edet628 A8: There are a lot of great virtual field trips through @SkypeScientist which work great for students in Alaska since it's so difficult/costly to get anywhere!
@JGumlickpuk#edet628 A6: There are a lot of great science websites out there. It's actually overwhelming! There are a lot of great lab simulators. I like @PhETsims
@JGumlickpuk#edet628 A4: Right now I am having my students work through a science fair type project. They choose something that they are excited to learn about and run with it. Then they will share their projects with one another through @padlet.
@JGumlickpuk#edet628 A2: The students should explore to learn because it encourages them to build off their natural curiosities and teaches them how to learn on their own.
@JGumlickpuk#edet628 A1: Engaging with students before sending them out to explore gives them a basic understanding and some excitement around the subject of study.
@andreaupnorth#edet628 Looks like a fun way to get students talking. I'd be interested in knowing more. Is this something you could do at the high school level? The kids in the video appeared to be younger.
