@NoahGuth it does seem to be a trend lately that writers (or maybe more so publishers?) are scared of ambiguity, which is disappointing because so often it gives the impression that they do not trust the reader.
@NoahGuth i don't think it's entirely new; lots of 19th century novelists loved to tell you way too much about way too much, & one of my favorite examples of "loved this book but i could not explain a thing that happens in it" is the buried giant from 2015, but (1/2)
