WE MADE £100k IN 7 DAYS 💰
Non league play offs are chaos 😂
Emotionally, operationally, commercially.
Thought I’d share some behind the scenes on how we approached ours at @FarnhamTownFC off the pitch because I think clubs massively underestimate the opportunity these games create 🧵
An AI voice agent called Rachel phoned every pub in Ireland to ask one glorious question: how much is a pint of Guinness?
4,440+ pubs. 982 verified prices.
The result is the Guinndex: the first comprehensive pint price index for the entire island of Ireland.

Grassroots and non-league volunteering online “hubs” feel like they’re stuck in the turnstiles while the game’s moved on.
If we want more people involved, the doors need to be wider, clearer, and friendlier.
❤️ Open access, not gated communities
Resources should be visible to everyone. No account walls. No log-ins just to look. Curiosity should be rewarded, not blocked.
❤️ One true noticeboard
A single place for volunteer vacancies at every level. From Step 1 to Sunday leagues. Clear roles, simple language, easy to share.
💰 Built on passion, not profit
Fan-led. Community-first. Not driven by clicks, ads, or gambling money. The heartbeat of the game deserves better foundations.
📄 Written guidance matters
Clear, plain-English articles, checklists and step-by-step guides are just as important as videos and podcasts. Some people prefer to read, let people have an option, they can read or they can listen to the text being read back to them.
♿ Inclusion by design
Written content supports:
✅ People with hearing impairments
✅ Neurodiverse volunteers
✅ Those with limited data or older devices
✅ People who want to skim, save, translate, or revisit later
🎧📺 Media should be a choice, not a barrier
Video and audio are great, but they should add to learning, not be the only doorway in.
If online hubs are serious about inclusion, they need to cater for how people actually access information, not just what looks good on a homepage.
Accessibility isn’t a bolt-on. It’s the starting whistle.
Volunteering is the lifeblood of football. The online spaces that support it should reflect that.

Sheffield Wednesday administrators have received an extraordinary enquiry from the owners of Sheffield United, asking about a possible deal to merge the rival clubs.
It has been made clear that neither the EFL nor the new Football Regulator would allow such a merger to happen.

STATEMENT FROM THE PLAYERS OF SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY FOOTBALL CLUB
As has been well publicised, players, coaching and club staff groups at the club have all been impacted by delayed and overdue payment of salaries.
This has been a worrying time for us as players but, whist we are often the ones in the spotlight, we are not the only ones involved. We stand together in support with all our colleagues employed by the club who have been affected.
Players and staff are now feeling real, practical impacts in their professional and personal lives and we are extremely concerned at the lack of clarity regarding what is happening and when this will be resolved.
The decision taken by the players to withdraw from the planned friendly with Burnley was not taken lightly or without consideration. We are fully aware of the added concern this will have caused supporters but trust there is a real understanding of the difficult position we have been put in.
We want to reassure fans that there has not been, and will not be, any ‘downing of tools’ by any of us on the training ground, and we are all working as hard as we can and supporting each other, the manager and staff.
However, we, like you, want our focus to be fully on what happens on the pitch and the new season ahead. This is proving to be really challenging and we have made it clear to the club that we want this situation to be addressed as soon as possible so decisions taken like the one not to play at Burnley are avoided in the future. We can then all move forward together as a club.

Sheffield Wednesday is facing the gravest crisis in its modern history. For years, we’ve watched our club crumble under Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership.
In the last few months alone, staff and players have gone unpaid, academy scholars have been left waiting, senior players have handed in their notice and walked away for free, and promising young talent has been sold at cut-price fees to cover debts caused by incompetence.
Now, the iconic North Stand — a symbol of Hillsborough — has been closed after years of neglect and a complete disregard for fan safety.
The Supporters Trust is doing everything it can to bring about the end of Chansiri’s ownership — and this includes protesting.
Details of the protest at Leicester away will be announced over the weekend, with plans for Stoke to follow next week.
