@messina_jp I find myself constantly rolling my eyes at how much blatant AI-produced content I see on these platforms. Or, as an offending posts might sign off with: "It's not content. It's slop."
I've got a new paper out arguing that an economy dedicated to the value of community will likely generate status competition. This is a problem if the value of community is grounded in a claim of equal esteem or recognition.

I have a new paper out on envy and stability. The thesis is that envy is a serious problem, and we ought to pay more attention to cultural practices as ways of mitigating it.

So, if you are a political theorist who can credibly teach Intro to American Politics and are interested in a teaching position in a very cool college town, this is a good job for you to apply to.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. 3/3

@Kpourvand In the section on crude communism in the 1844 manuscripts, Marx explains why a raising of wages would not solve the problem of alienation. Roughly, the issue is still you are working for the sake of a wage.
@wtfis2bdone @JKandiyali The paper is more modest than that. I focus on some recent arguments that have become popular in the literature and try to show why they are invalid. If this means radicals have other arguments, fine with me! An alternative frame for my paper could be: https://t.co/bdtbk32BlN
@matthenryyoung I guess I’m getting blocked by someone but Theory of Justice is the natural choice.
An alternative I like is to pick a book recently published you want to read that you think might work with undergraduates. I’ve done that a few times and thought it worked out.
@ZoltnGborSzcs1 That seems reasonable. Though, I think it is valuable to distinguish the question of what a person's legal obligations are and the question of the duty to obey the law, whether or not the latter issue is called "political obligation."
