Excited to share my latest first-author manuscript, now available as a preprint on @biorxiv_immuno! We introduce VLP-Open HLA, a new protein-based nanoparticle platform for T-cell screening studies, leveraging SpyTag/SpyCatcher bioconjugation chemistry and engineered open MHC-I!
Tired of running separate experiments using ELIspots and tetramers? Then use VLP-Open HLA - a versatile nanoparticle platform that can screen for #Tcell responses in vitro. Using SpyTag/SpyCatcher chemistry to conjugate our loadable, open #MHC-I molecules on engineered protein-based nanoparticles, our platform can efficiently detect and activate antigen-specific T cells at scale.

Grateful to contribute a small part to this exciting effort in developing a new protein-based, MHC-targeting immunotherapy platform. Congrats again to lead author @HaotianDu4 and all the incredible co-authors at @ChildrensPhila, @Penn, and @Stanford!
Proud to unveil TRACER-I, a de novo protein platform developed through 5 years of collaboration with @PossuHuangLab. By recognizing diverse #MHC-I antigens (cancer, autoimmune & pathogenic), we're paving the way for more accessible immunotherapies. Congratulations to @HaotianDu4 and the incredible Team from @StanfordBioX , @UPennAllergyImm and @CHOP_Research ! https://t.co/DqsV7xOMWe
A paper published by my Ph.D. lab in ACS Bioconjugate Chem last month on the fluorescent unnatural amino acid acridon-2-ylalanine (Acd) synthesis and its applications features an analogous DPP-4 probe design, using Acd instead of coumarin as fluorophore.

My first-author paper on novel DPP-4 fluorescent probe design is now published in @ChemComm as part of their 60th Anniversary Collection! This was made possible by co-authors Yanan & Sam, my Ph.D. advisor, and everyone in the Petersson lab @PennChemistry

📸 Snapshots from #NPAW2024 last week! To all our postdoctoral fellows at @ChildrensPhila: THANK YOU! 🙌 And a special thanks to our Office of Academic Training & Outreach Programs + @CHOP_Postdocs for a fun & educational roster of events!
New preprint alert! Our lab has captured the first glimpse of how #TAPBPR selects #antigens for #MHCI presentation. Focusing on a high-fidelity #immune checkpoint, our structural insights guide new approaches to #vaccine design and #cancer#immunotherapy.

Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman – awarded the 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine – discovered that base-modified mRNA can be used to block activation of inflammatory reactions and increase protein production when mRNA is delivered to cells.
BREAKING NEWS
The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
I am honored and humbled to be recognized for my service and contributions to graduate student life at Penn. Congratulations to my fellow awardees and thanks to all who have mentored/inspired me along the way!
Congrats to Alison Knasin (Ph.D. in chemistry) and Hoang Anh Phan (Ph.D. in chemistry) who received 2022-23 Graduate Student Leadership Awards for their service and lasting contributions to graduate student life at @Penn. https://t.co/7edrXYNLdL @PennChemistry
