To increase access to higher education for Native students, Michigan State is offering in-state tuition to Native ppl living across the country. The move in part is in response to Michigan’s history where many of its Indigenous ppl were violently removed. https://t.co/S0kAnhHtfW
Take one minute to tell Seattle City Council to pass I-137 outright! (Or at least put it on the November ballot)
Seattle residents and voters have repeatedly showed strong support for social housing. Let’s get it done!!

“I’m sorry if we build a little bit and it has an impact on someone’s perfect neighborhood because people aren’t even able to survive right now. So I guess my sympathies are quite low.”

It’s crazy having gone to a private university because you look up your classmates and they either are marketing manager at Raytheon, comms director for a Republican, or head of subprime mortgages at JP Morgan.
I'm running to represent the people of the 43rd Legislative District in the Washington State House of Representatives, and I want to talk about why. (1/6)
We have a once-in-a-decade chance to get the Comprehensive Plan update right. To plan for a city of healthy, vibrant, and well-connected neighborhoods.
The current draft does not do this, but we can still change it. And it’s going to take ALL of us.

Every council member endorsed upzoning & Alt. 5 publicly. But now that the plan’s out and election is over (likely purposefully timed by Harrell), just unimaginative drivel about “ugly townhomes.” Unfortunately for city council, we didn’t forget what they promised.
Paraprofessionals in classrooms, service workers, creatives, etc. who actually make Seattle a good place to live can’t afford to live in the city. But definitely, let’s subsidize housing for police.
This is why I’m so glad @TammyMoralesSEA was re-elected. She seems to be the only council member that 1) has a working knowledge of the plan and 2) understands its impacts
All this yellow for basically SFZ-lite and building restrictions that make any modicum of density difficult to achieve. It is insane to read that this will make Seattle "an affordable and racially inclusive city." How?
This is from OPCD's 2021 community engagement summary. It's offensive to do this engagement, and then do the exact opposite in the draft plan. Urban villages stayed, no major changes to exclusionary zoning, and no targeted upzoning in rich neighborhoods like Magnolia, Seward Park
