@Stagecoach_Ox Is the E1 to Eynsham still expected to be diverting via Cumnor on Wednesday morning, or has the B4044 reopened under the A420 junction? No mention of that diversion/delay on your feed on Tuesday & it made my son late for school...
@RWLDproject Don't miss Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar or one of the chambered tombs (doesn't have to be Maes Howe, you can just walk up to some), St Magnus' Cathedral or the Italian Chapel, all on Orkney mainland...
@BBCScotlandNews See https://t.co/ddHoXpxutM "The Ness of Brodgar is the thin strip of land, in the West Mainland of Orkney, that separates the lochs of Harray and Stenness... the site of the Ring of Brodgar and the nearby Standing Stones of Stenness."
@BBCScotlandNews Lovely piece but makes the same error our tour guide on the dig last year complained about - "the Ness of Brodgar" is the whole peninsula, not just the dig. "The Ness lies just south-east of the Ring of Brodgar" is wrong - the Ring is *on* the Ness, as is the dig site.
@LynseyStill1@MichaelRosenYes@Underthecranes We had to stop a family watch of Coraline when our youngest was little because he completely freaked out. (He was v scared of plots where trusted adults turned out to be Something Else - even Wallace & Gromit and the Curse of the Were-rabbit.) Still haven't seen the whole thing!
@SarahHill14@MichaelRosenYes@ToppingsEdin We were at Toppings in Bath this week and noticed, among their blackboards on the railings out the front advertising coming author events, that @MichaelRosenYes will be there in the autumn!
@OxfordClarion Is the expectation that drivers spiral out as they go round? If so, there need to be dashed lines that indicate that - it's a very small and tight roundabout for spiralling and there's very little time to move out between exits.
@irimtated Having read the article, not surprised they were pretty spooked (as well as sad) when they turned out to be right. But what a testimonial to the power of *teaching critical thinking*.
As a self-described "expert generalist", and an academic - business - professional service boundary spanner, there's lots in this (and the original @HEPI_news report) that resonates. Worth a read by fellow #KnowledgeExchange professionals (and our bosses!)
A phrase that carries on being echoed around #Oxford tonight is “there are many, many more of us than you”. The city’s residents are sending a very clear and defiant message in response to the violent attacks across the UK. @TheOxfordMail ✍️
@RWLDproject There wasn't a right-wing gathering, there was a rally against the far right (trust Oxford to have an anti-riot ❤️) https://t.co/GcdM1upSJu
Massive clean up operation underway from countless numbers of local people, who’ve been out since sunrise with spades, bags and brushes #sunderland@itvtynetees
@seatsixtyone I navigated the family across Germany in the summer of 2019 with the DB app (all went hideously wrong around Frankfurt in both directions...) bin that connection, sprint to this other platform instead, sit on your luggage because it's rammed... trains disastrous, but app great!
@CarrieWatts246@Uncool_Buck@pwgm80 Personally I've never understood why "competitive brain damage" is an Olympic sport, full stop. I find it really disturbing watching *anyone* getting punched, by anyone, and therefore I won't watch the boxing. But while it's on, she should clearly be allowed to compete.
Addressing those who claim Imane Khelif has an unfair biological advantage.
1/ 🧵 Imane Khelif’s victory in the Olympics has sparked debate over her supposed biological advantage due to Swyer syndrome. Let’s break down why these claims are misguided. 1/9
