The Sovereign & the Sovereignty: A conversation around Guru Gobind Singh Sahib by Harinder Singh (@1Force) in dialogue with Dr. Harpreet Singh (@hsingh). 🗓️ 18 April 2026 | 4:00–6:00 PM 📷 Harvard University, Tsai Auditorium S010, CGIS South, 1730 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA.
Reminds me of Chatthian Di Var, which describes the assault of Mahan Singh ( Ranjit Singh’s father) on the Chatthas: bahar guru chitarde te andar bangaa (the Sikhs recite from Guru Granth Sahib outside, while Muslims give their call to prayer inside). Par khoon na kariye kisse da, bhath jang dian tangaa!
REPOST from @wkamaubell: "One of my favorite episodes of United Shades of America was the one where I talked to Sikhs. One of the most powerful moments was this conversation with Dr. Harpreet Singh of the Sikh Coalition, talking about the Sikh community’s response to 9/11."
AI generated scene from a #Sikh Misl Camp (1733 CE) that I created today using Google #Veo3 model. I am in the process of creating a 5-minute film on the deliberations of the Sarbat Khalsa on the Mughal offer of Nawabship based on Bhangu's Panth Parkash. But Veo3 cannot get the turban styles correct for Sikh men or women, even after uploading reference photos. I wanted rounded turbans to make the scenes historically accurate but I have had no luck, wasting hundreds of credits. For women, it creates the most bizarre turbans, forcing me to remove women horse riders from the scene completely. Despite an 8-second clip limitation, these are exciting times for content creation! @GoogleVeo3
@kalgidhardifauj The Param Marag Granth (aka Prem Sumarag), c. 1700, written at Anandpur, under the chapter on marriage states, "Let the bride and bridegroom then receive the initiation by the double-edged sword (pahul khande di)." Verse 28. Padam's version of Chaupa Singh agrees with the above.
$NVDA CEO's advice to students:
"resilience matters in success...I don't know how to teach it to you except for, 'I hope suffering happens to you'..greatness comes from character & character...is formed out of people who suffered..I wish upon you ample doses of pain & suffering"
@TPaganism86985@XJatlandX@MKumar89883791 When quoting always provide section and page references. I don't see any glorification of or pride in "Jatt" identity. The Khalsa identity is not only embraced but glorified. This vulgar embrace of Jatt identity that you see in Punjabi songs and on Twitter is a modern phenomenon.
