DNA-PAINT was pioneered in 2010. In the 16 years since, advances in target quantification, achievable resolution, and imaging throughput have made DNA-PAINT a uniquely powerful super-resolution microscopy method.
Swipe to see DNA-PAINT's seminal milestones:
→ 2010: DNA-PAINT introduced, first demonstrated on a DNA origami (DOI: 10.1021/nl103427w).
→ 2014: Exchange-PAINT: multi-target imaging via orthogonal DNA sequences (DOI: 10.1038/nmeth.2835).
→ 2016: qPAINT: accurate molecule numbers via predictable DNA kinetics (DOI: /10.1038/nmeth.3804).
→ 2020: Faster imaging: higher throughput with optimized sequences (DOI: 0.1038/s41592-020-0869-x, 10.1038/s41592-019-0584-7).
→ 2023: RESI: molecular resolution from a fluorescence microscope (DOI: 10.1038/s41586-023-05925-9).
We started Massive Photonics in 2019 to make sure these advances reach every scientist ... not just the labs that developed them.
The field isn't slowing down. Neither are we.

Over the past decade, MIT engineers have been working on ways to restore hepatocyte function without a surgical liver transplant. Injectable “satellite livers” could offer an alternative to liver transplantation. https://t.co/vidw0npJ7j
Finishing off the week with another #FluorescenceFriday! Check out this 600x magnified look at a section of a rat's brain. Magnificent, isn't it?
