Itโs adding a whole different department. So in my scenario, a whole new Affiliate Program โDeptโ was added and Iโm building it myself. I now have two people under me. Itโs not replacing our UGC dept nor our Influencer dept. Thereโs now three and I appreciate the brand for knowing that this needs to be separate.
FFS stop using TRYBE as a place to do gifted collaborations or seeding campaigns. We have a lot of platforms that already do that. You're not using it to its fullest potential as a PERFORMANCE BASED platform.
Here's how I'd actually use it if you're trying to build a creator program that contributes to paid social ๐๐ป
1. Be selective with who gets product.
You don't need to approve every creator who applies. Look at whether they can actually communicate on camera and whether their content makes sense for the customer you're trying to reach.
2. Give creators enough direction to make something useful.
Your brief should give them the product facts, customer pain points, offer, claims they can and can't make, and examples of what's currently working. They should understand what you're trying to sell without being handed a script.
3. Review submissions quickly.
If creators are submitting content and it sits in review for two-three weeks, you're slowing down the entire program. Approve usable content, give actionable feedback when something needs work, and keep things moving.
4. Actually launch the content into ads.
I've seen brands with a huge library of approved creator content that has never been tested. Before recruiting another hundred creators, figure out why the content you've already collected isn't making it into the ad account.
IF YOU'RE PAYING CREATORS BASED ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR ADS, THEN THEY'RE SUBMITTING CONTENT "FOR FREE" WITH THE ASSUMPTION THAT IT WILL ACTUALLY BE RUN AS AN AD. HOW TF ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO EARN IF YOU'RE NOT GONNA RUN IT?
APPROVE WHAT YOU CAN RUN. REJECT WHAT YOU CAN'T AND GIVE THE CREATOR FEEDBACK. DON'T JUST APPROVE EVERYTHING BECAUSE YOU'RE SCARED TO HURT THE CREATOR'S FEELINGS.
5. Understand that launching an ad is only the beginning of the test.
Some creator ads will barely spend, some will get turned off quickly, and a small number will continue getting budget because they're showing promise. You need enough creative going through this process to actually learn what works.
6. Look at the creators getting meaningful spend.
Once you have enough data, look at which creators are consistently getting budget behind their content and which ones have produced multiple ads that spend... AND INVEST IN THEM EARLY.
7. Use performance data to guide the next round of content.
If certain hooks, pain points, formats or products keep getting spend, tell your creators. Host weekly or bi-weekly calls with them. You just CAN'T skip this part.
8. Recruit based on what you've learned.
Once you know which creator profiles, products, angles and formats are actually working in paid social, use that information when recruiting the next group. You're no longer just adding creators to the roster and hoping someone makes something good.
๐ฉท Sincerely,
someone who spends 12+ hours a day on trybe, discord and slack working on affiliate programs and paying out over $250K in creator commissions and bonuses
If you're a brand spending at least $100k on Meta and wants to scale using affiliates and creator community. I know my sh*t, don't fall for another agency pitch who's just gonna charge you a lot but then outsource this Trybe program to a VA. DM me. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@Evangelinetopaz OH MY GOD.... literally had this problem and what sucks is i vouched for the creator and we skipped the usual hiring process and damn... the videos she submitted were so bad...
Top reasons why I'm rejecting an affiliate application on @TrybeUGC - as someone managing multiple programs, one of which still has 4,500+ pending applications ๐
1. Profile photo - do you have one? Do you match the demographic we're trying to target. (aka a male affiliate applying for a gen x makeup product) ๐๏ธ reject
2. Do you have sample videos uploaded? No? How about linked social media? No? ๐๏ธ reject
3. Oh you have video samples... but they're AI ๐๏ธ reject
4. Oh wait, your video samples were actually UGC... but they're all product shots? No talking head videos? ๐๏ธ reject
5. No profile photo, no links, no location, no history... ๐๏ธ reject
6. You selected 50+ niches but not one example for the niche I'm looking for that YOU applied for... ๐๏ธ reject
@UGCWithHeatherT They become the first creators I would reach out to even 4 years later ๐ฅน @Demiijustin@contentbyroxy@socially_ari
Iโve worked with agencies, brands, my own brand and whenever I need a UGC creator I always think about these three^ because theyโve been so easy to work with
Congratulations! I joined you with this brand in August and have loved working with you. Youโre so supportive, always there to answer questions, and you genuinely care about helping creators succeed. Having weekly calls and someone who understands both sides makes such a difference. So well deserved!
Crazy how the affiliate program I built in late Julyโฆ is currently one of the top brands on @TrybeUGC
$200K in creator earnings? HELLO???
Humility aside, the affiliate program was a one woman + one VA job but we actually get sh*t done.
Looking for a few experienced affiliate creators to join a performance-based creator program.

@alyshadotmd Youโre from CALGARY??? Homesense at 130th ave is elite, ive been to all of them lmao and thereโs also drive thru Starbucks is 3-4 mins away from it
Thatโs insane because Iโm an affiliate manager for one of the top brands on Trybe. Same thing happened during our labor day weekend and I was ON IT for straight 72 hours trying to figure out wth is going on. Iโm sure Trybe support was sick of me but I wanted to make sure our creators were getting paid. We were able to resolve it and issued the missing commissions. Although our case was a bit different, itโs showing up even the sales just not earnings. I came with receipts both from the dashboard and Meta ads. It was solved thanks to the Trybe team. So it really is depending on the brand and how they use a platform.
@joelnolancaro Love it! Algorithm is kinda in my favor because weโre now furnishing out new build home and thereโs no rug on the porch yet ๐ LMK if this brand work with canadian creators Joel! House is brand new โจ
@UgcEmilyMiller saw the same post, 100% agree - the influencer collab income is in a separate bucket for me than ugc income. a lot of ugc creators start to be so delulu with their fees because they see posts like that
