Nvidia’s own words tell the story
Nvidia CFO Colette Kress addressed the China situation on the company’s Q4 fiscal 2026 earnings call in February. Her words were direct.
While small amounts of H200 products for China-based customers were approved by the U.S. government, we have yet to generate any revenue,” Kress said, according to The Register. “We do not know whether any imports will be allowed into China.”
She also warned about the competitive threat. “Our competitors in China, bolstered by recent IPOs, are making progress,” Kress said. They “have the potential to disrupt the structure of the global AI industry over the long term.” $NVDA
Visa Inc. had its planned acquisition of a 51% stake in Prosa blocked by Mexico’s National Antitrust Commission, marking the new regulator’s first major ruling, Bloomberg reported.
The watchdog said the remedies proposed by Visa and Prosa were insufficient to mitigate risks to competition and consumers. The deal, announced in December 2023, would have given Visa control of two of Mexico’s three card issuers—its own network and Carnet (owned by Prosa)—leaving Mastercard Inc. as the only rival. It also would have given Visa control of two of the country’s four clearinghouses.
Under the proposal, Visa would have gained access to detailed data on all card payments processed by Prosa, including transactions involving Mastercard-branded cards, significantly strengthening its position in Mexico’s payment processing and brand licensing markets
