German discount grocer Lidl built their own cloud infrastructure because of German data laws, and now has a ~$2B revenue business selling it to others (a la AWS)
They spent $700M acquiring an Israeli cyber security company (XM cyber)
This must be bad for anthropic too, right? Not hard for investors connecting the dots to see that their leadership also has a particular ideological background
@benbawan@Fullantho@costa11235 On the other hand, Japanese working longer hours as you mentioned would be an explanation for the lower productivity numbers β if you work longer for the same output, productivity is lower
@benbawan@Fullantho@costa11235 That is, it's clear to me that demographic challenges adversely affect GDP per capita, but I don't see how productivity per hour worked would be affected unless I misunderstand the measure completely
@benbawan@Fullantho@costa11235 Hm, what is productivity per hour worked then? My impression was that this would roughly just be total GDP divided by number of hours worked. So if you add non-working people while keeping GDP constant, productivity/h would stay constant while GDP per capita would decrease.
The usual suspects will be horrible of course but i dont think the fondness for the Palestinian cause that has historically prevailed in polite western society will survive prolonged contact with these sort of tribal raids on social media. X's non censoring is ugly but matters.
We ***must*** move beyond rhetoric and immediately revamp our defense industrial base. We need to be able to produce large numbers of weapons and platforms quickly - not only for ourselves but for our allies.
The world is getting much more dangerous. We have no time to waste.
